The Bombay High Court today directed a private developer to inform it about the preventive steps it was going to take to ensure its under-construction high-rise in South Mumbai did not damage adjoining buildings, including the bungalow of jurist Soli Sorabjee. The directions came after Sorabjee's lawyers Nikhil Sakhardande and Prahlad Paranjpe informed the bench that despite its intervention on a previous occasion, the realtor had failed to ensure other residents were not inconvenienced. In the court, the lawyers showed a slab of cement which they claimed had fallen inside the premises of Sorabjee's bungalow on Napean Sea Road in South Mumbai this morning. "This is so dangerous. Earth-bound Chinese spacelab plunging to fiery end

An uncontrolled Chinese space station weighing at least seven tonnes is set to break up as it hurtles to Earth on or around April 1, the European Space Agency has forecast. "It will mostly burn up due to the extreme heat generated by its high-speed passage through the atmosphere," it said in a statement. Some debris from the Tiangong-1 -- or "Heavenly Palace" -- spacelab will likely fall into the ocean or somewhere on land, but the chances of human injury are vanishingly small, said Stijn Lemmens, an ESA space debris expert based in Darmstadt, Germany. "Over the past 60 years of space flight, we are nearing the mark of 6,000 uncontrolled reentries of large objects, mostly satellites and upper (rocket) stages," he told AFP. More than 90 per cent of those bits of high-tech space junk weighed 100 kilos (220 pounds) or more. "Only one event actually produced a fragment which hit a person, and it did not result in injury." Lemmens calculated the odds of being struck by space debris at one

Quality of coal produced by CIL

Coal India Limited (CIL) always put their best effort to segregate/remove foreign materials like stone, shale etc. present in coal but due to heterogeneous composition of coal seam along with thin inter-band of shale and stone, the presence of some stone, shale and sand in the coal supplied to the consumers cannot be ruled out completely. That is why the provision of +250 mm stone compensation has been kept in the Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA).
