HDFC Bank proposes to sell 100% stake in its subsidiary HDFC Education

HDFC Bank has decided to sell its 100 per cent stake in HDFC Education and Development Services Private Ltd. The transaction will be undertaken through the Swiss challenge method, HDFC Bank said in a regulatory filing on Saturday. "In this regard, HDFC Bank has, on March 30, 2024, entered into a binding term sheet with an interested party, and the offer contained in such term sheet shall serve as the anchor/base bid to seek counter offers from other parties interested in participating in the aforesaid Swiss challenge process," it added. HDFC Bank will finalise the purchaser on the basis of the completion of the Swiss challenge process, it said, adding that after which the bank and successful bidder would enter into definitive documentation for the purposes. HDFC Education is engaged in providing services to three education schools, it said.

Bihar Board class 10 results declared; overall pass percentage at 82.91

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Sunday announced the class 10 results, with the overall pass percentage being 82.91. The pass percentage for boys was 84.45, while it was 81.4 for girls. "This year, a total of 16,64,252 candidates appeared for the examination, of which 8,58,785 were girls and 8,05,467 were boys. A total of 13,79,842 candidates, including 6,99,549 girls and 6,80,293 boys, passed the examination," BSEB chairman Anand Kishore said. The overall pass percentage was 81.04 last year, he added. A total of 4,52,302 students passed with first division while 5,24,965 students secured second division and 3,80,732 got third division, he added. The topper of class 10 is Shivankar Kumar of Zilla School in Purnea district. Kumar got 97.80 per cent. Adarsh Kumar of Samastipur scored 488 marks and secured the second position in the state. 3 more held for attack on int'l students at Gujarat University hostel

Police on Monday arrested three more persons in connection with the alleged attack some international students in the Gujarat University hostel premises here for offering namaz near the hostel block, the crime branch said. The city crime branch on Sunday nabbed two persons - Hitesh Mevada and Bharat Patel - and handed over them to the Gujarat University police station for further legal process, it said in a release. On Monday, the crime branch arrested three more persons, Kshitij Pandey (22), Jitendra Patel (31) and Sahil Dudhatiya (21), all residents of Ahmedabad, and handed them over to the local police for further probe, taking the total number of the arrested accused to five so far, the release said.
