India's data science education market is expected to grow 57.5 per cent to USD 1.391 billion (about Rs 11,569 crore) by 2028, according to a study. The size of the sector in 2023 was USD 204.23 million (about Rs 1,698 crore) and is likely to see a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 57.5 per cent over the next five years, the report by edtech platform Imarticus Learning and Hyderabad-based tech portal Analytics Insight said. The report projected data jobs to go up 57 per cent in the next five years from 2.1 lakh this year to 3.3 lakh by 2028. 'HECI to be introduced in Parl, law colleges not to be brought under it'

The Higher Education Commission of India (HECI) Bill to set up a single higher education regulator will be introduced in Parliament soon but medical and law colleges will not be brought under its ambit, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said. In an interview with PTI, Pradhan said the HECI will have three major roles which are regulation, accreditation and setting professional standards. Funding, which is seen as the fourth vertical, will not be under the HECI and the autonomy for funding will stay with the administrative ministry, the minister said. "We will bring the HECI bill in Parliament soon...after that also there will be standing committee scrutiny but we have started comprehensive work for everything. There are three major verticals. Himachal CM distributes Rs 4.6 crore among over 2,000 orphan children

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here on Tuesday distributed Rs 4.68 crore among over 2,000 orphan children for various expenses such as hostel and education fees, an official statement said. The amount was directly transferred to the children's bank accounts during a state-level 'Mukhyamantri Sukh Aashray' function here presided over by the chief minister. The 'Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashraya Yojana' aims to provide comprehensive support to orphans, specially-abled children, destitute women, and elderly individuals in the state, the government release said.
