External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today asked Indians and Chinese to learn each other's languages as it will help them overcome the communication barriers, which could further strengthen relations between the two neighbours. Diploma holders in yoga will get a preference in admission to degree courses in physiotherapy, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided. The decision has been taken following recommendation of an expert committee which suggested that those with expertise in Yoga be given preference in admission, subject to the condition that marks secured in the entrance examination and other eligibility conditions are similar to a candidate with same credentials sans Yoga expertise. The recommendations have been approved by the HRD Ministry. "A candidate having at least one year diploma in Yoga may be given preference in admission, subject to the condition that marks secured in the entrance examination and other eligibility conditions are same to a candidate with similar credentials but not having said expertise in Yoga," a letter sent by UGC to all universities read. In wake of the continuous protest in the Valley, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to shut the coaching centres for next three months.Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Altaf Bukhari, while talking to the media, said that the state government is focusing on providing proper schooling.He said, it was found that the coaching centres operating in the valley were major distractions for the students and efforts are being made to keep a check on the same."We were looking at distractions and one of the distractions we found was coaching centres. We will pass an official order for coaching centres to shut their shops for a while. The Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered closure of coaching centres offering tuition up to class 12 to remove the "distractions in and around schools", in the wake of widespread student protests against the Kathua rape-murder incident. The order, however, shall have no bearing on the coaching centres providing training for professional courses to students passing out from class 12th, an official spokesman said. In order to remove distractions in and around schools, and to put in place a regulatory mechanism for improving the academic environment in the state, Education Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has directed that all those private coaching centers offering tuition up to class 12 will be closed for the time being, he said. Simone Bregni, associate professor at Saint Louis University in Spain, started playing video games in 1975 when he was 12. By the mid-1980s, he was playing textual adventures, and soon realised his English was improving rapidly as he played. Bregni began incorporating video games in the classroom in language labs in 1997.
