By 2025 end, 80 per cent of Delhi's total bus fleet will be electric, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday and asserted that acquisition of e-buses will go a long way in reducing pollution in the national capital. Sharing a roadmap for procurement of electric buses, he said the government will be buying 1,500 such vehicles in 2023 and by 2025, 6,380 electric buses will be bought. Kejriwal, who flagged off 50 electric buses from Rajghat Depot here, said the addition of the new buses will take the electric buses plying on the Delhi roads to 300. Congratulating the officers behind the mission and the people of Delhi, he said, With the induction of 50 new electric buses today, Delhi now has 7,379 buses under its city bus transportation fleet. This includes 4,060 buses being operated under Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and 3,319 buses being operated under DIMTS (Delhi Integrated Multimodal Transit Systems). Tata Motors bags order for 200 e-buses; to be deployed in Jammu, Srinagar

Tata Motors on Tuesday said it has received an order for 200 electric buses which will be deployed in Jammu and Srinagar. The Mumbai-based auto major has won the tender of 200 electric buses floated by Jammu Smart City Ltd, it said in a statement. The automaker will supply 150 units of 9-metre and 50 units of 12-metre Starbus electric buses, it added. As part of the contract, Tata Motors will operate and maintain the buses for a period of 12 years. "Sustainable public transport is the need of the hour, and we are delighted that Tata Motors has got the opportunity to serve the commuters in Jammu & Kashmir," Tata Motors Smart City Mobility Solutions CEO and MD Asim Mukhopadhyay said. Since 2019, Tata Motors' 40 electric buses have been plying in Jammu and Kashmir along with a cumulative supply of 715 electric buses across multiple cities in India.

CESL floats tender for 5,690 electric buses as first tranche of NEBP

Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) on Thursday announced floating a tender for deployment of 5,690 electric buses. This is the first tender under the National Electric Bus Programme which aims to effect the deployment of 50,000 e-buses across the country, CESL said in statement. "After the success of grand challenge based tender for 5,450 e-buses, CESL announces a tender has been floated for another 5,690 e-buses. This unified tender calling for proposals for the provision of mobility services benefits from the participation of Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Telangana and Arunachal Pradesh," it said. The tender is based on terms and conditions standardised through the grand challenge process. It contains demand for three types of e-buses 7m, 9m and 12m -- on a gross cost contracting basis, requesting bidders to quote a price per kilometer for operating services over 12 years -- a model that is quickly becoming a standard in India. Olectra gets order for 100 electric buses from Assam State Transport Corp

Olectra Greentech Limited on Friday said it has received a Letter of Award from Assam State Transport Corporations for 100 electric buses. A press release from the firm said it is the first order bagged from North-Eastern states and the order is to be delivered over a period of nine months and shall be responsible for maintenance of these buses for a period of five years. The value of these 100 Buses bupply would be approximately Rs 151 crore for Olectra. K V Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director, said, "We feel happy to get the first order from the North-Eastern states and Assam. With this order, our buses are running all the corners in India. Ours clocked over five crore kilometres on Indian roads, and reduced carbon emissions significantly.

Olectra to supply 300 electric buses worth Rs 500 crore to Telangana

Olectra Greentech Ltd (OLECTRA) will supply 300 electric buses worth Rs 500 crore to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). The Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd (MEIL) group company, Evey Trans Private Ltd (EVEY), has received the Letter of Award (LoA) from TSRTC for supply of 300 electric buses to TSRTC, a statement said. According to the statement, the value of this order is approximately Rs 500 crore. EVEY shall procure these buses from Olectra Greentech Ltd, which shall be delivered over a period of 20 months. The order is to supply 300 electric buses under the FAME-II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) scheme of the government of India. These 300 e-buses will be supplied on a Gross Cost Contract (GCC)/OPEX model basis for 12 years. During the contract period, Olectra will undertake the maintenance of these buses. This transaction between OLECTRA and EVEY is to be considered related-party transactions and shall be on an arm'
