'RSTV has over 1 million subscribers on YouTube'

Rajya Sabha Television's viewership has jumped substantially during the last 10 months on YouTube as it has over 1 million subscribers now and is ahead of several prominent private news channels, according to an official statement. The public broadcaster is ahead of private channels such as India Today, NDTV India, Republic TV, CNBC Awaaz, News X, CNBC TV18 and WION, the Rajya Sabha secretariat said in the statement. It said among the public broadcasters, Rajya Sabha Television (RSTV) is ahead of DD News and Lok Sabha TV. Since its launch in 2011, the channel acquired over 10 lakh YouTube subscribers entering the "million plus club" of eight news and current affairs channel on June 12. "Of the total subscriber base of over one million, RSTV gained 5.74 lakh new subscribers during the last ten months. The "Wonder Woman" sequel officially has a name and the follow-up to the Gal Gadot-fronted film is titled "Wonder Woman 1984". Director Patty Jenkins also made a startling revelation that actor Chris Pine will reprise his role as Steve Trevor, American pilot and the love interest of Diana Prince/ Wonder Woman, in the upcoming film. Film maestro Satyajit Ray's magical characters 'Goopy Gyne' and 'Bagha Byne' are all set to make a comeback in a new avatar next year, 50 years after the first film involving the singer-drummer pair hit the silver screen. Anindya Chatterjee, whose 'Open Tee Bioscope' (2015) received both critical acclaim and audience backing, takes along Goopy and Bagha while donning the director's hat for his third film. "This film is for the present generation audience as well as for those who have grown up watching the previous Goopy-Bagha films," Chatterjee said.
