Feels like 'Star Wars' has been part of our culture since the beginning of time: Thandie Newton

Thandie Newton, who features in the upcoming "Solo: A Star Wars Story ", says she has been a fan of the franchise since always. Newton plays Val in the upcoming Han Solo stand-alone project directed by Ron Howard. "'Star Wars' has been in our midst for so many years. I remember as a child, just absolutely loving Princess Leia and Chewbacca and C-3PO, all these characters that just sort of entered your consciousness and never went away. "So it's a modern set of films, but it feels like it's been part of our culture since the beginning of time. I guess that's partly because of the whole futuristic element of Star Wars," Newton said in a statement. For her role in "Solo", Newton performed a lot of her stunts on her own and the actor said even though initially she had doubts, but once she got into performing the action sequences she started enjoying them. Robin Williams suffered from dementia in his last days, says book

Oscar-winning actor Robin Williams was struggling from diffuse Lewy body dementia in his last days, a new book has revealed. In a soon-to-be-released biography, titled "Robin", author Dave Itzkoff says the actor did not have Parkinson's disease, as he was diagnosed earlier, New York Post reported. The actor, who had started having troubles with speech and behavioural dysfunction, did not know he was suffering from the neurogenerative disease. It was only three months after his death that the autopsy results revealed that he had "diffuse Lewy body dementia". The inability to express himself, a rarity for one of the most spontaneous performers on-stage and on screen, was eating Williams from the inside during the filming of "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb", the third movie in the successful family franchise in Vancouver in 2014. The actor committed suicide at the age of 63 on August 11, 2014. The author spoke to people close to Williams to piece together the actor's troubled ...

Paul Feig up for 'Ghostbusters' sequel

Filmmaker Paul Feig says he would love to make a sequel to "Ghostbusters 2". The filmmaker had previously admitted that he ''regrets'' the lack of success surrounding his remake of the hugely popular 1984 Ivan Reitman movie, which notably swapped the lead roles from male to female. The film starred the likes of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon, reported Contactmusic. "We would love (to make another movie), it's really up to the studio. We had so much fun making that movie. 'The movie's just really built an audience in the two years since it's been out. ''I get contacted every day by people who are such fans of it, and so many women who are inspired by seeing women in science. I will go to my grave so proud of that movie, and so proud of what that cast did in that film," Feig said.

Actor Josh Brolin says he had a "crush" on Ryan Reynolds after watching "The Proposal". The 50-year-old actor says he was inspired to join "Deadpool 2" as baddie Cable alongside Reynolds' Deadpool, after seeing the star and Sandra Bullock portray warring fake lovers in the 2009 smash romantic comedy. "I was a secret fan of 'The Proposal', having watched it several times by myself. I told Ryan. I was like, 'I don't know why this is, and I don't know what this means psychologically, behaviourally, emotionally, but I have kind of a crush on you.'," Brolin told Entertainment Weekly. Reynolds, 41, however, does not believe that Brolin has watched his romantic comedies and finds it ''weird'' when he keeps going on about his crush. ''Like, he pretends he's, like, all sort of New Agey sometimes and all this stuff, but deep down inside I just think his heart is made of some, like, jagged chunk of Yosemite granite. I don't buy that underneath all this textured skin is a sweet little angel that .
