Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who is set to launch his political party tomorrow, was given a rousing welcome by his supporters when he arrived here today. Haasan is scheduled to set out on a yatra from this island and launch the political party in Madurai, about 170 km from here. Rani Mukherji today said she became an actor by default as it was a decision that was taken by her mother. "I did not decide (to become actor), my mum decided for me. When we were young it was a different generation, unlike what happens today. I was an obedient child. "So I did whatever my mum said, she said become an actor, so I became an actor. She realised my thing (of actor) before me. I became an actor by default. A Mumbai-based group today said it supports "Oru Adaar Love" director Omar Lulu and actor Priya Varrier, who are facing allegations of hurting religious sentiments, for their "bold stand against bigotry". Harmony Foundation chairman Abraham Mathai condemned the controversy over the Malayalam film and said it was another attempt at "ripping apart the secular fabric of our nation".
