'Kaala' starring Rajinikanth to hit the screen soon

One of the most-awaited movie of the year, 'Kaala' starring superstar Rajinikanth is all set to hit the silver screens on April 27.The news was confirmed by actor-producer Dhanush via his Twitter handle.Dhanush, who is the producer of the movie, shared a new poster of the flick with a caption that reads 'the don of dons is back '.Kaala is Rajinikanth's second collaboration with director Ranjith. The duo came together last in 2016 for the blockbuster hit 'Kabali'.The main plot of 'Kaala' revolves around the oppressed Tamil of Mumbai and Rajinikanth will be reportedly seen playing the role of a don.Kaala also features Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar and Anjali Patil in lead role.The music of the movie has been scored by Santosh Narayanan.

Rajinikanth's upcoming flick 'Kaala' to release on Apr 27

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming 'Kaala' directed by Pa Ranjith is all set to hit the screens on April 27, producer of the movie and actor Dhanush said today. 'Kaala Karikalan' is directed by Ranjith, who shot to fame with Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' and also 'Madras'. "Mark the date !!#kaala #april27 the don of dons is back #Superstar #thalaivar," Dhanush, also the son-in-law of Rajinikanth tweeted. Dhanush's 'Wunderbar Films' is producing the flick. The actor also shared an image of the picture in which Rajinikanth, clad in a black outfit, seen sitting on a chair. In May 2017, Dhanush released the first image of 'Kaala Karikalan' to be produced by Wunderbar Films. Music is composed by Santhosh Narayan. The film had earlier courted controversy with the adopted son of Mumbai don, late Haji Mastan, alleging the plot was based on his father's life. The makers had however denied it. No plans to publish comics: Gita Press

The Gita Press, one of the largest publishers of Hindu religious books, today said it had no plans to publish comics as the pictures of deities could not be distorted. A recent news report claimed that the publisher had decided to reach out to children through its new series of comic books, portraying deities as superheroes. The manager of Gita Press, Lal Mani Tripathi, said, "The press has no plans to publish comics for children as the pictures used in comics are very different from reality and images of deities cannot be distorted. He said they were only using stories which they already had and were published in their magazine, Kalyan, for different books. Earlier, the press used to publish books in pocket sizes with black and white pictures and it later, came up with full size books, carrying colour pictures, big fonts and simple language. Rajkummar Rao's 'Omerta' to release on April 20

Hansal Mehta's "Omerta", starring Rajkummar Rao, will release on April 20 this year. The film won accolades at the Toronto International Film Festival and Jio MAMI film festival last year. The intense drama film is based on the life of British- born terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, who was freed in exchange for passengers of a hijacked Indian Airlines plane in 1999 and was later accused of killing journalist Daniel Pearl. Mehta had shown Omar's character in his 2013 film "Shahid", in a brief scene where he tries to brainwash lawyer Shahid Azmi, the film's protagonist. Interestingly, Rajkummar had played the role of Shahid Azmi in that film. Mehta earlier collaborated with Rajkummar in three back- to-back films -- "Shahid" (2013), "Citylights" (2014) and "Aligarh" (2015). Mehta also served as the creative producer of web series "Bose: Dead/Alive", that featured Rajkummar in the lead. The film is produced by Nahid Khan and presented by Swiss Entertainment.

Actor David Harbour and his girlfriend Alison Sudol are off to Antarctica as part of 'Protect the Antarctic' campaign of Greenpeace. 'Gully Boy' to release on Valentine's Day next year

Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh starrer "Gully Boy" will hit theatres on February 14 next year. The film is directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Excel Entertainment. It follows the story of slum rappers of Dharavi, Mumbai, a statement issued here said. The makers also unveiled the first look of the film on social media in which both Alia and Ranveer are seen in simple, de-glam yet pensive looks. The "Student of the Year" actor has her head covered with a hijab, while the "Padmaavat" star is wearing a hoodie. Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Padman' banned in Pakistan

Akshay Kumar's "Padman", which deals the issue of menstrual hygiene, has been banned in Pakistan. The country's Federal Censor Board has refused to give its nod for the release of the R Balki-directed film, which also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles. "We can't allow our film distributors to import films which are against our traditions and culture," FCB member Ishaq Ahmed said. The members of Punjab Film Censor Board also refused to watch the film saying it is based on a "taboo subject" and outrightly rejected any clearance certificate to it. "We can't allow the screening of films on taboo subjects in our cinemas as it is not in our culture, society or even religion," a member said. Well-known Pakistani filmmaker Syed Noor said that there was a need to speak to the local film distributors and exhibitors about the films they import from other countries. "Not only this film 'Padman' but I think even 'Padmaavat' should not have been released in Pakistan .
