Rajinikanth wishes Kamal Haasan luck on his foray into politics
Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has extended his wishes to actor Kamal Haasan for announcing his political debut."I wish him all the best," said the 67-year-old.On that note, Haasan, on Tuesday, announced that he will undertake a state-wide tour of Tamil Nadu from February 21 and will also announce the name of his political party and its ideology at the beginning of his journey.He further announced that the tour will be undertaken in multiple phases.On this tour, which will be flagged off from his hometown of Ramanathapuram, the 'Dasavatharam' actor will be proceeding to the districts of Madurai, Dindigul and Sivagangai, where he will be interacting with locals.On a related note, Haasan, earlier in September, had said he would be willing to work with Rajinikanth, if the superstar decided to enter politics.Earlier in the day, actor R Madhavan also extended his support to Kamal Haasan for his entry in politics.

Movie rating website Rotten Tomatoes mistakenly declared veteran film director John Carpenter dead in a since-deleted tweet on Tuesday and just like his quirky nature, Carpenter replied to their tweet with his natural sense of humour.The horror master responded on Twitter to an errant tweet posted by Rotten Tomatoes earlier in the morning saying the iconic 'Halloween' director was dead.Carpenter tweeted, "To Rotten Tomatoes, despite how it appears, I'm actually not dead."The website said he was deceased in a tweet promoting a gallery of his work as Tuesday was his 70th birthday. Docu on Kailash Satyarthi to premiere at Sundance Festival
"Kailash", a documentary on Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, will have its world premiere at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival in the US. Directed by debutante Derek Doneen, the documentary will feature in the 'US Documentary Competition' section at the prestigious festival. The 92 minute-film traces Satyarthi's journey and his efforts to rid child trafficking and child labour, the Nobel laureate's office in New Delhi told PTI. The film has been produced by Davis Guggenheim and Sarah Anthony, while it has been co-produced by Purnima Raghunath. Guggenheim won the Best Documentary Feature Academy Award for "Truth" and was Oscar-shortlisted for his most recent docu-feature, "He Named Me Malala", about Satyarthi's joint 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai. Rajput community hold protest against 'Padmaavat' in Rajasthan
Rajput community members today held protest in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's controversial film 'Padmaavat', demanding a complete ban on its release. The Rajputs, along with other community members, staged a sit-in protest near Rithola crossing on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad highway by blocking it for nearly half-an-hour, police said. Traffic had to be diverted due to long snarls of vehicles on the highway, they said. However, no untoward incident was reported due to the security steps taken by the police administration as a precautionary measure to deal with the protesters, the police said. LA Italian Culture Fest to honour Bellucci and Lollobrigida
Veteran Italian actors Monica Bellucci and Gina Lollobrigida are all set to be honoured at the LA Italian Culture Festival. The two actors will be recognised to celebrate Italian excellence at a three-day cultural event by Tiziana Rocc from Filming on Italy and Valeria Rumori from the Italian Institute of Culture Los Angeles, Variety reported. Bellucci, who became an international sensation after her title role in 2000's "Malena", has featured in 67 films, including "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Passion of the Christ".
