Ali Fazal to star in Pradeep Sarkar's 'Arranged Marriage'

Ali Fazal has been roped in for Pradeep Sarkar's next directorial venture, "Arranged Marriage". The actor will play the male lead in the film which is a modern-day love story. The movie will explore the relationships in a family and their involvement during the process of an arranged marriage. Ali said he is excited to work with Sarkar, whose last release was "Helicopter Eela", on the project. "It's an honour and privilege to work with a veteran director and writer Pradeep dada who has given such powerful and meaningful cinema and has worked with some of the best talents of India cinema. "... It touches upon some very essential phases of love, relationships, families that are involved in marriage and how important it is that where what these families come from," the actor said in a statement. The female lead is yet to be disclosed. Shooting of the film is currently underway in Kolkata. Ali will next be seen in Amazon Prime Video web series "Mirzapur".

Steve Carrell joins Jennifer Aniston-Reese Witherspoon Apple drama

Steve Carrell has landed the male lead in Apple's untitled morning show drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carell will play Mitch Kessler, a morning show anchor who is struggling to maintain relevance in a changing media landscape. The role marks the actor's first TV regular appearance since he wrapped up the NBC comedy, "The Office" in 2011. Aniston and Witherspoon will co-executive produce the show which is based on an original concept by Michael Ellenberg and draw inspiration from Brian Stelter's book "Top Of The Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV". The show has received a two-season, 20-episode order. Kerry Ehrin is attached as showrunner on the series and will also exec produce. Stelter serves as a consultant. Production is set to begin next week here.

Emerald Fennell to play young Camilla in 'The Crown'

Emerald Fennell is joining the royal family of "The Crown" as a young Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in the third season of the hit Netflix series. The streaming giant made the announcement Tuesday on Twitter, saying the 33-year-old actor will play Camilla Shand (later, Parker Bowles) in the upcoming installment of the show. Fennell said she was looking forward to be a part of the royal drama. "I'm absolutely over the moon, and completely terrified, to be joining so many hugely talented people on 'The Crown'. Emma Thompson has been roped in to feature in the big screen adaptation of "How to Build a Girl". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 59-year-old actor is also joined by Chris O'Dowd. The film is based on Caitlin Moran's bestselling book of the same name, which is a comedic coming-of-age story set in the 1990s. The plot revolves around Beanie Feldstein's Johanna Morrigan, who is a smart, opinionated and overweight teenager. With puberty in its full gear, Johanna is desperate to get out of her hometown and make a name for herself. She has gained notoriety as an enfant terrible and she finally figures out "how to build a girl." But the twist is: Is this how she wanted it to be? While Thompson will play Johanna's editor at a music magazine, Considine and Solemani will play her parents. The film also stars Alfie Allen, Paddy Considine and Sarah Solemani. Johnny Depp to star in, produce 'Waiting for the Barbarians'

Actor Johnny Depp is all set to feature in and produce the drama "Waiting for the Barbarians". According to Variety, the 55-year-old actor has partnered with Andrea Iervolino to develop and produce film and digital content. Depp will be joined by actors Mark Rylance and Robert Pattinson in the film, which is an adaptation of JM Coetzee's novel of the same name. The film is about a small colonial town magistrate who undergoes a crisis of conscience after he witnesses the cruel treatment of prisoners of war. US, Russia to co-produce cartoon series

A Russian animation film Company, Riki Group, and Hollywood's Tremblay Bros. Studios are all set to co-produce an animated musical TV Series titled 'The Kameleons'.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christian Tremblay, president of Tremblay Bros. Studios, said that his company had long wanted to "bring a musically themed show to life" and are lucky to have an "extraordinary animation team" like Riki Group as their partner.The cartoon is set in a typical suburban neighbourhood, where the Kameleons have to lead a life filled with struggles on their way to stardom.The cartoon, which was developed by Christian and Yvon Tremblay, is inspired by Riki Group's original concept.In the first season, 52 episodes of 11 minutes each will be produced. Hollywood Rapper Nicki Minaj has been charged with plagiarism by veteran singer Tracy Chapman.Chapman claimed that Minaj stole her song 'Baby Can I Hold You' for the latter's track, 'Sorry', reported TMZ.This comes at a time after Minaj, back in June 2018, tried to obtain rights of Chapman's song 'Baby Can I Hold You' and failed.It was in August 2018 that Minaj's song 'Sorry' featured in her latest album 'Queen'.
