Disney's 'Jungle Cruise' gets new release date

The release date of Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt-starrer 'Jungle Cruise' has been pushed by nine months.The Disney film, which was originally slated to release in October next year, will now premiere on July 24, 2020, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.Helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra of 'The Shallows' fame, 'Jungle Cruise' is set in the early 20th century in the Amazon jungle. Johnson is essaying the role of a boat captain, who takes a girl (Blunt) and her brother (Jack Whitehall) on a journey to find a tree believed to have healing powers. Along the way, they are forced to deal with wild animals and a competing German expedition.Last month, Johnson had tweeted that the shooting of the film had ended, adding that he had "the adventure of a lifetime" while filming alongside his "partner in crime" Blunt."Soul.. she's got it. Dileep's resignation from AMMA has been accepted,says Mohanlal

Actor Dileep, an accused in the case of sexually assaulting a South Indian actress last year, has resigned from Malayalam Actors' body AMMA, its president Mohanlal said Friday. Mohanlal said Dileep's resignation was sought after discussing with him the demand by Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) members that he should quit the actors body. "Dileep has resigned and his resignation has been accepted," Mohanlal said. John Krasinski penning 'A Quiet Place' sequel

Actor John Krasinski has revealed he is currently writing the sequel to his critically-acclaimed directorial venture "A Quiet Place". The 38-year-old actor directed the movie and also starred in it along side his real-life wife Emily Blunt. ''I had this small idea for a sequel, but I didn't think it would go anywhere. So, I said to the studio, 'Just go do the movie with somebody else.'," Krasinski told the audience at a Q&A attended by The Hollywood Reporter. The actor, however, found it difficult to move past his own idea for the sequel - which he eventually revealed to producer Andrew Form of Platinum Dunes. "They heard some pitches, and I told Drew about this little idea. And he told me to think about it a little longer. And then I thought, 'This might really work.' So, I'm currently writing the sequel," he said. "A Quiet Place 2" is scheduled to hit the screens in May, 2020.

Sean Baker to head international jury of Mumbai Film Festival

'The Florida Project' director Sean Baker will be heading the international jury of the upcoming Mumbai Film Festival.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Baker is joined on the jury by Thom Noble, Oscar-winning editor for 'Witness', filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, among others.Conducted under the aegis of the Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI), this will be the 20th edition of the festival.
