I needed to rehearse the most: Amitabh Bachchan on Prabhudheva's choreography

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says his task on "Thugs of Hindostan" was made more tough by ace choreographer Prabhudheva, who gave him "impossible" dance steps for the song "Vashmalle". Prabhudheva, who is known for his unique choreography, has directed Bachchan and his co-star Aamir Khan in the song. "Prabhudheva is an amazing personality. His dance movements and the way he performs is astonishing and then when he makes you dance to the kind of steps that he does it's impossible to create them. We went through several periods of rehearsals. I needed it most than the others," Bachchan said in a statement. "We had all been struggling, me in particular, so hard with the song and we said let's just play the song and freak out so we just played the song and everyone just did what they wanted to do. Idris Elba in talks for 'Cats' movie

Actor Idris Elba is in negotiations to join the voice cast of "Cats", the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's beloved musical. Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper will helm the project which is expected to start shooting in England next month, reported Deadline. If the deal gets finalised, the 46-year-old actor will join Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden and Ian McKellen in the cast. Lee Hall will adapt the screenplay for the musical, which Lloyd Webber based on T S Eliot's children's poems. The film will follow the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as "the Jellicle choice" and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga to star in 'Annabelle 3'

Actors Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are all set to reprise their roles from the "Conjuring" films in the next Annabelle installment. Wilson, 45, and Farmiga, 45, played Ed and Lorraine Warren, respectively, in "Conjuring" and "Conjuring 2". The two characters will be back in supporting capacity for the "Annabelle" threequel, which will be written and directed by Gary Dauberman, reported Deadline. The film will once again centre on the demonically possessed doll Annabelle, who has been placed by the Warrens in a location they believe she can no longer wreak havoc: their Artifacts Room. I&B min seeks Sports Act amendment to ensure maximum viewers watch events of national importance

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has proposed amending the 2007 Sports Act to ensure that the largest number of viewers have access to broadcast of sporting events of national importance, officials said Tuesday. As per the provisions of the Sports Act, the live feed received by Prasar Bharati from the content rights owners or holders is only for the purpose of re-transmission of the said signals on Doordarshan's own terrestrial and DTH network and not for cable operators or other networks, they said. As such the viewers, who do not have DD FreeDish or Doordarshan's terrestrial network, are either unable to watch these sporting events or are compelled to watch them on highly-priced sports channels, thus defeating the objective of the Sports Act, officials said. With a view to give the largest number of viewers access to broadcast of sporting events of national importance, the ministry proposes to amend section 3(1) of the Sports Act to ensure mandatory sharing of the ...

Govt may consider giving grant for Bhojpuri films: Sushil Modi

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi Tuesday said the state government may consider giving grant for producing Bhojpuri films in Bihar. Bhojpuri film star Ravi Kishan met the deputy chief minister here and raised the issue of giving grant for producing Bhojpuri films on the lines of Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh governments. "The state government may consider giving grant for producing Bhojpuri films in Bihar," Sushil Modi told Kishan. Keeping in mind the requirement of film industry, the state government has identified 20 acres of land for construction of a film city at Rajgir, the DyCM said. Kishan informed Modi, who is also state's Finance minister, that Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh governments give 30 and 40 per cent as grant of the total cost involved in the production of Bhojpuri film if it has been entirely shot in the state.
