'Ee Maya Peremito' in trouble for hurting religious sentiments

Telugu movie 'Ee Maya Peremito' landed in trouble on the day of its release as Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Chairperson Prasoon Joshi received a letter from Telangana MLA T. Raja Singh stating that one of the songs in the film, Arihanthanam, hurts religious sentiments.Singh, in his letter to Joshi, wrote that the lyrics of the track, which was released over two months ago, are taken from a sacred Jain song, which has hurt the sentiments of the Jain community. The MLA, therefore, requested the makers to remove the words from the song.Several members from the Jain community also took to Twitter to request the film unit to remove the song.'Ee Maya Peremito', which released on September 21, has five songs, and Arihanthanam is one among them. Mani Sharma has composed the music for this soundtrack, while Shree Mani wrote the lyrics for it. Anurag Kulkarni and Sahithi Chaganti rendered their voices for the track, which was released online in July.

First look of Joaquin Phoenix as 'Joker' out!

American director Todd Phillips unveiled the first look of actor Joaquin Phoenix in his upcoming untitled film about the Joker.In a short screen test video shared on Instagram, Phoenix can be seen staring blankly into the camera before cracking a slight smile until his face is interspersed with images of him as the Joker.The camera then flashes to Phoenix, whose character is named Arthur, wearing clown makeup instead of the traditional white face and green hair.Scheduled to release on October 4, the film will also star Robert De Niro, Deadpool 2 breakout Zazie Beetz and GLOW actor Marc Maron.

Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to star in sci-fi movie

Hollywood stars Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are all set to join an untitled sci-fi movie.The movie which will be premiered in streaming giant Netflix is being directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, reported Deadline. The storyline as of yet is not known.Oscar winner Foxx is currently shooting a drama film 'Just Mercy' opposite Michael B. Jordan of 'Creed' fame and Brie Larson. Foxx will be next seen in 'Robin Hood' scheduled to be released on November 21.Gordon-Levitt, on the other hand, will be next seen in the thriller film '7500'. Gordon-Levitt also got nominated for the Golden Globe Awards twice for '50/50' and '500 Days of Summer'.

Season 3 of 'Daredevil' to be grittier!

The Season 3 teaser of the popular superhero web series 'Daredevil' is now out, and it looks grittier than the other two seasons.The teaser was released on September 20.As evident from the teaser, Charlie Cox is all set to reprise his titular role. The character of 'Daredevil' was last seen in another series 'The Defenders'.In the teaser, Cox is seen drenched in blood which is significant because it is indicative of the fact that the titular character will be portrayed more violently.This is evident as Cox's character in the teaser says, "There's only one true way to end evil. Cast for Maradona biopic announced

The cast for the biopic series based on legendary Argentinean Football player Diego Maradona has been announced.In the biopic 'Maradona: Blessed Dream', actor Nicolas Goldschmidt will play the icon during his early formative years, Nazareno Casero will play the star while he rose to fame with clubs like Barcelona and going on to be lead his national team; and Juan Palomino will portray as Maradona from his darker times, reported Deadline.The series will track Maradona's life from infancy to his present life. The first season will be filmed at Argentina, Uruguay, Spain, Italy, and Mexico.The series which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video biopic will be available in more than 200 territories.

FIR against Salman, others associated with 'Loveratri' on Bihar court order

An FIR was lodged here Friday against Bollywood actor Salman Khan and others associated with his upcoming home production "Loveratri", the title of which was changed to "Loveyatri" a few days ago. The case was lodged at the Mithanpura police station here in pursuance of an order passed by Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (East) Shailendra Rai on September 12. The court had passed the order on the complaint of an advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha who had alleged that the title of the movie made fun of the holy festival of Navaratri. He had also alleged that the promos of the movie suggested that it contained vulgarity and could hurt sentiments. Khan - who is producing the movie slated for release on October 5 - had announced on Twitter a few days ago that the movie's title has been changed from "Loveratri" to "Loveyatri". No big deal: Abhishek on cuts in 'Manmarziyaan'

Actor Abhishek Bachchan has defended the decision of the makers to delete three scenes from his latest "Manmarziyaan" and said the sequences did not impact the story anyway. The scenes in questionfeaturing Abhishek and Taapsee Pannu smoking had upset a certain section of the Sikh community, following which they were omitted from the film. When asked about the issue, Abhishek said, "Each individual is allowed to react the way they have, and they want to. It's their personal opinion. For me, it's not a big deal. Nepal joins Oscars race with 'Panchayat'

Nepal has officially chosen 'Panchayat' to be submitted under the 'foreign language film' category at the 91st Oscars set to be held next year.The film which is written and directed by Shivam Adhikari is the story of a girl from the 1970s who faces social taboos associated with menstruation, reported the Hollywood Reporter.The film portrays the Chhaupadi tradition in Nepal which prohibits Hindu women and girls from taking part in normal family activities while menstruating since it is considered "impure".The movie was a hit with the critics in Nepal after its release in March.Till date, Nepal received only one nomination at the Oscars back in 1999 for its film 'Caravan' under the said category.
