Actors Samuel L Jackson and Cobie Smulders are all set to reprise their Marvel Cinematic Universe's characters in "Spider-Man: Far From Home". According to Vulture, Jackson will return as Nick Fury in the sequel to 2017 blockbuster "Spider-Man: Homecoming". Smulders will also reprise her role of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill. Both the character were last seen in the post credits scene of the summer tentpole "Avengers: Infinity War". Jackson's casting means that Nick Fury is confirmed to appear in at least two Marvel movies next year. Apart from "Far From Home", the actor will also appear opposite Brie Larson in "Captain Marvel", which release on March 8, 2019. The Chinese consulate in Kolkata, in cooperation with Nandan - the culture hub of Bengal - is set to organize a three-day film festival here. Seven Chinese films, including action-adventure comedy 'Kung Fu Yoga', martial arts flick 'Tai Chi Hero' and fantasy-drama 'Rest On Your Shoulder' will be screened at the festival from August 11 to 13, a statement issued by the consulate said yesterday. "The film fest is part of the on-going effort of the Chinese consulate to increase understanding of China in Kolkata and Eastern India and promote cultural exchanges between the countries," it said. The tickets for the fest will be available for free at Nandan Complex from today. "After the screening of each film, there will be a short quiz contest and souvenirs will be given to the one who gives the right answer. The consulate will also host a film review session for the audience," the statement added.

The Tamil Nadu government has declared a holiday for educational institutions and government offices tomorrow as a mark of respect to DMK president and former chief minister M Karunanidhi, who died here today. An official release from Chief Secretary Girija Viadyanathan said all educational institutions, state government offices, public sector undertakings and government controlled bodies would remain closed tomorrow. The treasury department would function with skeleton staff, the release said. Fuel stations and cinema houses across the state would remain shut as a mark of respect to the departed leader. In a press release, Tamil Film Producers Council President Vishal Krishna said all programmes, including film shooting, audio releases and film shows across Tamil Nadu, have been cancelled tomorrow.

Gitanjali is not just a collection of poems to me. It is an Upanishad for the modern times," Tripathi today said after the release of the CDs at the Kolkata Press Club today. This album contains recitation of Hindi Translation of 157 poems of "Gitanjali" by Tripathi.
