The government today said it will seek a legal opinion if a person can sing a song of any singer in karaoke and upload it on social media. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry C R Chaudhary informed the Lok Sabha that a complaint has been received regarding blocking a Facebook account holder for singing and recording songs in karaoke and uploading it on the social network. He was replying to a question whether a person can sing a song of any singer in karaoke, record it as hobby in friends, social function and upload it on social media. "The issue is under examination, for which legal opinion will be sought," he said.
