"Mission Impossible" star Rebecca Ferguson is set to appear in Sony's "Men in Black" spin-off. Filmmaker F Gary Gray is directing an ensemble cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson, Les Twins, Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall, and Emma Thompson as the head of the secret agency. According to Deadline, the spin-off, penned by Matt Holloway, aims to push the franchise, originally starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as alien fighting secret agents, into a global scale. Confirming that he will be featuring in the sequel of Aamir Khan's "Sarfarosh", actor John Abraham says he is geared up for the action-drama, which will be different from the original. The University Grants Commission has recommended the HRD Ministry to grant deemed university status to the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). The institute, one of the prestigious journalism schools in the country which functions under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, offers diploma courses in journalism, advertising and public relations. The University Grants Commission (UGC) had last year formed a four-member committee headed by BK Kuthiala, the vice-chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, Bhopal, to analyse the proposal by the IIMC. "Based on the committee's recommendation and inspection team's feedback the UGC has recommended that the ministry should issue a Letter of Intent (LoI) to the journalism school under the 'De Novo' category. The status will enable the institute to grant degrees instead of diplomas," a senior UGC official said.
