G20 destinations have put India on global tourism map: Govt in parliament

G20 meetings in India have fostered collaboration among governments, private sector and other stakeholders, and locations hosting these events have "attracted global attention and put India on the global tourism map", the Parliament was informed on Thursday. In a written response to a query in Rajya Sabha, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said infrastructure has been upgraded at host cities and various initiatives have been taken up for building the capacity of stakeholders for successful conduct of events. He was asked in a written query as to whether the government has made any assessment of the impact of the G-20 Summit to be held in India, on the tourism sector of the country. G20 Energy Transitions Group takes note of Green Hydrogen Innovation Centre

The G20 Energy Transitions Working Group meeting in Goa took note of the Green Hydrogen Innovation Centre and Global Biofuel Alliance proposed by India, a senior government official said here on Thursday. Union power secretary Pankaj Agarwal, who chaired the meeting, told reporters that there has been significant convergence on hydrogen-related issues. G20: EWG meeting begins in Indore to tackle global labour challenges

The fourth and final meeting of the Employment Working Group (EWG) of G20 began in Madhya Pradesh's Indore city on Wednesday, with an aim to find solutions to the current global challenges in the areas of labour, employment and social security of workers, officials said. The meeting will focus on finalisation of the Ministerial Declaration and Outcome Documents, and consolidating efforts of the three previous meetings, they said. Nearly 100 delegates from G20 member countries, special invitees and several international organisations are participating in the fourth Energy Transitions Working Group (ETWG) meeting which began in Goa on Wednesday. There are six priority areas outlined under India's G20 Presidency, reflecting India's focus on various aspects of energy transition and building global cooperation toward sustainable and clean energy development, an official said. The two-day meeting, chaired by Pankaj Agarwal, the ETWG chair and secretary of the Union Ministry of Power, is being held at a hotel near Goa's capital Panaji. G20 finance ministers on Tuesday discussed strategies to implement strategies for overhauling the global tax norms to ensure that multinational companies pay taxes wherever they operate.
