Amit Shah to attend SSB Raising Day event in Bengal's Siliguri today

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Frontier Headquarters' Raising Day celebrations and hold high-level meetings with officials in West Bengal's Siliguri on Friday. Shah arrived in the state on Thursday night, and Union Minister and West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar received him at the Bagdogra Airport in the northern part of the state. The Union home minister's schedule for Friday begins with his participation in the Raising Day celebrations at the SSB Frontier Headquarters' parade ground in Siliguri at 11 AM, officials said. Home minister Amit Shah to chair NEC meet in Agartala on December 21

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to chair the plenary session of the North Eastern Council (NEC) here on Saturday, an official said. DoNER minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with governors, chief ministers of all eight Northeastern states, and senior officials, will also attend the meet. Centre reimposes protected area permit in Manipur amid security concerns

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has reimposed the Protected Area Permit in Manipur in view of security concerns arising out of influx from neighbouring countries, a state government statement said. The statement issued late on Wednesday night said, "With this reimposition, the movement of foreigners visiting Manipur will be closely monitored, and they are required to obtain the necessary Protected Area Permit (PAP) in accordance with the Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order, 1958. It said the Centre has reimposed the Protected Area Permit in Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram. The statement also said that the state government has taken notice of the warning issued by an organisation which asked Chief Minister N Biren Singh not to travel to Senapati district to attend a cultural programme by passing through Kangpokpi district by road. India to develop anti-drone unit for border security: Union HM Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said India will soon create a comprehensive anti-drone unit to secure its borders as the "menace" of unmanned aerial vehicles is going to get serious in the coming days. Addressing BSF troops at the 60th Raising Day event of the force here at its training camp, about 300 km from the India-Pakistan border, Shah said the initial results of a "laser equipped anti-drone gun-mounted" mechanism have been encouraging.
