The Department of Tourism of Nepal on Thursday released the number of expedition permits and the number of successful ascends of Mount Everest.Out of the 563 successful climbers from 39 different countries, the number of Nepali climbers standing atop the world's highest peak is recorded at 302 which included altitude worker/guide/sirdar, the data from the Department of Tourism showed. A total of 514 Nepali climbers had acquired the permission for the expedition during the spring season this year.Amongst the foreigners who successfully ascended Everest this season are Indians. The number of Indian climbers stood atop with 51 successful ascends. This included seven successful ascends by female Indian climbers and 44 by male Indian climbers.A total of 59 Indian nationals had acquired the permission to scale the world's highest peak. It was a mixed day for Hero Motorsports Team rally at the Atacama Rally as Oriol Mena was placed 13th while Joaquim Rogrigues couldn't finish the third stage of the event. Mena started strongly but a difficult waypoint towards the end of the stage made him lose precious time to close the stage at 13th place. Rodrigues decided against taking unwanted risk and stopped before the stage came to a closure. The third stage had challenging dunes where speed and ability are severely put to test. Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala has opened the gates of the century-old Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru for the public for 15 days from August 16.The Governor said that anyone can visit the heritage site till August 31 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. after online booking.Through Karnataka Tourism Department guides, the public in batches will be given 20 minutes to see the premises.Vala said, "Raj Bhavan is a very old building.
