Melania Trump visits Kenyan national park, plans safari

Melania Trump is visiting a national park in Kenya to highlight animal conservation efforts. The US first lady arrived at Nairobi National Park on Friday to learn about steps the east African nation is taking to conserve elephants and rhinos. She'll also go on a quick safari. Mrs. Trump plans to visit with children at an orphanage and take in a children's performance later Friday at Nairobi National Theater. She is on her first-ever visit to Africa and her first extended solo international trip as first lady. Trump opened the trip Tuesday in Ghana and visited Malawi on Thursday. Egypt is the final stop on a four-nation tour of the continent to highlight child welfare, education and tourism and conservation.

UP: Man gives Triple Talaq to wife over phone

The Uttar Pradesh police on Thursday registered a case against a man for allegedly giving triple talaq to his wife over phone over the dowry issue.This comes weeks after, the Central government passed an ordinance criminalizing triple talaq.According to the victim's mother, Reshma, her daughter was being harassed by her in-laws. She alleged that her son-in-law, who lives in Saudi Arabia divorced her daughter after she couldn't arrange the dowry."My daughter was being mistreated by her in-laws. I brought her to my home and they started demanding her to bring money by threatening of Talaq. Later my son-in-law gave Talaq to my daughter over the phone from Saudi. Hyderabad: 19-year-old astrologer arrested for fraud

The Rachakonda Cyber Crime Police on Thursday arrested a 19-year-old astrologer for committing fraud and duping an individual from the city, of Rs 13 Lakh.The team of Cyber Crime Police had apprehended the accused pseudo astrologer Akash Bhargav from his residence in Punjab's Jalandhar, acting on a complaint filed by a resident of Hyderabad's Ramanthapur area.Bhargav had reportedly cheated the victim to the tune of Rs. 13 Lakh under the pretext of performing special rituals as per astrological predictions.According to Sudheer Babu, Joint Commissioner, Rachakonda Commissionerate, "On 21 August 2018 the complainant V.Janaki resident of Ramanthapur, reported that her elder son aged about 40 years facing some unpleasant issues both in his office and family life happened to visit one website and contacted the astrologer Akash Bhargav and informed him about his depression. Atul, the lion which sired 26 cubs, dies of old age in Hyd zoo

A 19-year old male Asiatic lion died Thursday at the Nehru Zoological Park here due to old age complications, the zoo said. "Atul", a veteran member of the zoo, was off feed and unable to walk. He was under the observation of zoo veterinarians since one week and the death was due to senility (old age) complications, it said in a release. "Atul has been an important part of our family and has sired 26 cubs which are presently accommodated in zoos in India and across the world," it said. The life span of Asiatic Lion in wild is 12-15 years and in captivity around 18 years, the release said.

Mata Vaishnodevi declared 'cleanest religious place'

The cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district has been declared the "cleanest religious place" in the country, officials said Thursday. Over 81.78 pilgrims visited the shrine in Trikuta hills in the district in 2017, a spokesperson of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board (SMVSB) said. Mata Vaishno Devi shrine has won the prestigious 'cleanest religious place' award at Safaigiri Summit and Awards 2018 ceremony organised by the India Today Group in Mumbai on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, he said. The award has been given in recognition of the significant strides made by the shrine board for ensuring sanitation and cleanliness all along the tracks and in the entire shrine area, he said. Fake astrologer cheats Hyderabad techie, arrested in Punjab

Luck ran out for a fake astrologer operating online from Jalandhar in Punjab after he was arrested for allegedly cheating a man here of about Rs 13 lakh by promising a cure for his depression through poojas, police said Thursday. The accused Akash Bhargav alias Akash Sharma (19) was brought here on a transit warrant and remanded in judicial custody, a police release said. Acting on a complaint lodged by the victim's mother in August, police apprehended Sharma from his house in Jalandhar, the release said. The victim, who lost his job as a techie, approached Sharma online hoping for a cure to his depression after facing issues in his office and family. When he contacted the fake astrologer, the latter demanded an initial sum of Rs 2,000 to perform a pooja and then sought more money leading to a total of Rs 12.97 lakh which was asked to be deposited in different bank accounts, the release said. Melania Trump is visiting Malawi, the second stop on a five-day goodwill visit to Africa. The US first lady landed in the capital of Lilongwe (lih-LON'-gweh) on Thursday morning after a six-hour flight from Ghana. She is focusing the trip on her interest in child welfare. At a primary school in Lilongwe, Mrs Trump is expected to tour classrooms, observe an English lesson, meet teachers and donate textbooks and soccer balls. She also plans to visit the Statehouse to meet over tea with Malawi's first lady, Gertrude Mutharika. Two scribes killed, two hurt in road accident in MP

Two freelance journalists were killed and as many others received injuries when their car hit a culvert on the Khandwa-Indore road here in Madhya Pradesh Thursday morning, a police official said. The scribes were on their way to Indore when the mishap took place near Dodhwada village, Chaigaon police station in-charge O P Ojha said. The car driver lost control over the wheels following which the vehicle hit the culvert, Ojha said. One of the victims died on the spot while the other one succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital, he said. The deceased were identified as Abhay Tomar (23) and Raunaq Sharma (35), he said, adding that the injured persons were undergoing treatment at the district hospital. All of the four men worked as freelance journalists, he added.
