Kangana hopes for better Indo-Pak ties with Imran Khan in power
Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut has a message for Pakistan's Prime Minister-designate Imran Khan.The 31-year-old, while wishing Khan good luck, said she was impressed by his speech.At an event, when the 'Queen' star was asked if she thought the relations between the two countries will improve, Kangana said, "Hopefully, we can only hope that we don't have to shed more blood.""It's unfortunate that our soldiers are dying. Became a diplomat over love for India: Chinese envoy
China's Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui today said his "love for India" was the only reason for him becoming a diplomat. The envoy along with a high-profile delegation visited the Lovely Professional University (LPU) campus near here. "I have a very long connection with India and my only reason for becoming a diplomat was my love for India. It is my second term as a diplomat in India and my wife has also studied her doctorate from India," a statement by the varsity quoted the envoy as saying. The Chinese ambassador's wife Jiang Yili also accompanied him. Luo was welcomed by LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal, it said. Fruitful discussions to promote Indo-China educational collaborations were held during the visit, it said. Expressing glee over his maiden visit to Punjab, the Chinese envoy said, "In my first visit to Punjab, I am very happy to come to this educational institution. I am impressed with the mesmerizing infrastructure of LPU".

Consumer durable firm Bajaj Electricals today condoled the passing away of its managing director Anant Bajaj. Bajaj, who was 41 years old, passed away on Friday evening. "His sudden and unexpected passing away will be an irreparable loss to the company and all the directors and employees of the company convey deep sympathy, sorrow and condolences to Bajaj family," Bajaj Electricals said in a regulatory filing. Anant Bajaj played crucial leadership roles through his 19 years career at Bajaj Electricals. He was appointed on the Board of the company in February 2006 and the company immensely benefitted from his vision and leadership during his tenure, the filing added.

WWII pilot's remains return home after 7 decades
The remains of a World War II pilot have finally been buried with full military honors in his home state of Nebraska after 73 years in foreign soil. Lane's family didn't learn of the mistake until a family in Idaho discovered the two soldiers' bodies were switched. The Lane family held another funeral Thursday in Beatrice, welcoming him to his final resting place.

Delhi Assembly forms panel to deal with menace of stray dogs, monkeys
The Delhi Assembly today formed a five-member committee to find a solution to the menace of stray dogs and monkeys in many parts of the national capital. AAP MLA Somnath Bharti will chair the committee. It will have BJP legislator O P Sharma and three other AAP MLAs -- Alka Lamba, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Rajesh Rishi -- as its members. The House also adopted a private member resolution with a voice vote. The resolution stated that there is a strong need to make policy decision about problems related to stray dogs and monkeys in many parts of Delhi. "The municipal corporation should research and formulate creative and scientific method to ensure that there is no menace of dog bites and monkey bites and also that there is no cruelty to animals," it stated.

Google quietly introduced a new social media app that will make your search about celebrities a little more interesting.Called Cameos, the app allows celebrities or public figures of authority record video answers to the most asked questions on Google by people. One can simply record their answer and post it right on Google.As per the app's description on App Store, one gets to choose which question they want to answer and when to answer. The celebrity gets to choose from most asked questions, fan questions, and trending topics related to them. The concept is similar to Reddit's AMA (Ask Me Anything) session which is very popular among celebrities.Cameos on Google app is currently available only by application. 20 kanwariyas hurt in road mishap
As many as 20 kanwariyas were injured today when their speeding tempo fell in a ditch after hitting a truck in Binawar area here, officials said. The mishap took place at around 4 am, the police said, adding that 20 persons were hurt. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition is said to be stable. Tension prevailed after the mishap as other kanwariyas moving on Budaun-Bareilly highway went on the rampage and set afire to the truck involved in the accident, locals said. Further, they went ahead and damaged a number of other vehicles plying on the stretch. However, the police reached the spot within minutes and controlled the situation.
