379 students enter India from Bangladesh via Tripura border in last 2 days

Altogether 379 students entered India in the last two days from violence-hit Bangladesh through integrated check posts in Tripura, a Border Security Force official said here on Sunday. Of the total returnees, 365 crossed over the international border on Saturday and four on Friday, he said. The returnees include three Nepalese students. DU sets up 4-member panel to probe vandalism at DUSU office; FIR registered

Delhi University (DU) on Monday constituted a four-member committee to investigate the alleged vandalism at its students' union office which will submit its report within seven days. The committee comprises DU Proctor Rajni Abbi, Dean of Students' Welfare Ranjan Kumar Tripathi, Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) staff advisor Surender Kumar, and Joint Proctor Geeta Sahare, an official notification said. "The Committee may submit the report at the earliest, preferably within 7 days," it read. The RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Sunday alleged that members of the Congress' student wing National Students' Union of India (NSUI), including DUSU vice president Abhi Dahiya, ransacked the students' union office in the North Campus. Indian Embassy in China holds meeting with students hit by Covid visa bans

The Indian Embassy here has held its first interactive session with the Indian students who suffered the most during the three-year COVID-19 period following China's visa bans prolonging their academic periods for several years. Around 80 old and new students from more than 13 Chinese universities took part in the welcome and interaction ceremony held on May 4. 24-year-old Indian student shot dead inside his car in Canada's Vancouver

A 24-year-old Indian man who went to Canada in 2022 to pursue higher education was shot dead in his car in Vancouver city, police said on Sunday. The Vancouver Police Department in a press release said officers were called to the scene around 11 pm on April 12 after residents heard the sound of gunshots. Chirag Antil was found deceased inside a vehicle in the area, police said. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing, it said. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said students will get an option of appearing for 10th and 12th class board examinations twice a year from the academic session 2025-26. One of the objectives of the new National Education Policy (NEP), unveiled in 2020, is to reduce the academic stress on students, Pradhan said on Monday after launching the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) scheme in Chhattisgarh under which 211 schools of the state will be upgraded. The function was held at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay auditorium in Raipur. Highlighting the concept of introducing 10 bag-less days in school every year, the minister stressed on engaging students with art, culture and sports, among other activities.
