MP govt to hike monthly honorarium of anganwadi workers to Rs 13,000

Months ahead of Assembly polls, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said the monthly honorarium of anganwadi workers will be raised by Rs 3,000 to Rs 13,000. Addressing a convention here, Chouhan said anganwadi workers will also benefit from Rs 1,000 being transferred to the accounts of 1.25 crore women under the newly-launched Ladli Behna scheme. The honorarium will be increased to Rs 13,000 from Rs 10,000 and the same will be hiked by Rs 1,000 every year as an incentive, he said. Apart from this, the honorarium for mini anganwadi workers has also been increased to Rs 6,500 per month, he said. Anganwadi workers and sahayikas (assistants) will be provided Rs 1.25 lakh on retirement, and they will be eligible for health and accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh, the chief minister said. Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath on Friday said 22,000 announcements of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the last 18 years remain unfulfilled and alleged corruption had hollowed out the state. Speaking to reporters, Nath said Chouhan was making announcement at double speed ahead of Assembly polls, likely to be held at the end of the year. Girl stuck in borewell pulled out after 52 hours, declared dead at hospital

A two-and-a-half-year-old girl, who fell into a 300-foot borewell in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, was pulled out by rescuers on Thursday evening after more than 52 hours of efforts, but was declared dead at a hospital soon later, officials said. A police official said on the condition of anonymity that the girl already died in the borewell and when she was pulled out, her body was found decomposing. The girl - Srishti - had fallen into the borewell in Mungavali village around 1 pm on Tuesday. She was pulled out at 5.30 pm on Thursday and was rushed to the district hospital in an ambulance for a check-up, where she was declared dead, another official said. After the confirmation of her death, her body was sent for post-mortem, he said. Madhya Pradesh govt to withdraw cases of Covid-19 norm violations

The Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday announced to take back cases registered against persons under normal sections for violating COVID-19 norms during the lockdown, state home minister and government spokesman Narottam Mishra said. During the lockdown, cases were registered against citizens for activities like not wearing a mask or gathering in public on the grounds that it could potentially spread the viral infection. On the directives of the chief minister, the government has decided to take back cases registered against persons under normal sections (applicable for non-serious offences) for violating COVID-19 norms during the lockdown period, Mishra told reporters. The exact number of cases registered for the violation of COVID-19 norms is not clear at present, an official said. Gaurs Group sets up 15 MW solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh at Rs 80 cr

Realty firm Gaurs Group has set up a 15 MW solar power plant near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh with an investment of Rs 80 crore. The electricity produced by the plant will be integrated into the central grid and utilised for its real estate projects, the company said in a statement. Delhi-NCR-based Gaurs Group has established a 15 MW solar power plant at Mahoba near Gwalior. The project is spread over a 50-acre area. "Built with an investment of Rs 80 crore, the plant will generate 2.25 crore units of electricity annually. The project's capacity can be enhanced as per future requirements," the statement said. The project has been financed through private equity and funding of Rs 55 crore from SBI. Nepal Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal "Prachanda" on Friday visited Asia's largest bio-CNG plant 'Gobar-Dhan' in Madhya Pradesh's Indore city. MP 'Ladli Behna' scheme: CM gives sanction letters to four women in Bhopal

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday distributed sanction letters in Bhopal's Duganagar slum area to beneficiaries of his government's flagship 'Ladli Behna' scheme. Under the scheme, eligible women beneficiaries will get Rs 1000 per month in their bank accounts from June 10th onwards, with Chouhan saying sanction letters were given at their doorstep during the day to avoid inconvenience to them of visiting government offices. Seven more cheetahs, including two females, will be released into the wild in Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park by the third week of June, the chairman of the high-level committee set up to monitor the progress of the much vaunted Cheetah reintroduction project said on Thursday. Under the ambitious programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the first batch of eight spotted felines from Namibia into a quarantine enclosure at Kuno in Madhya Pradesh on September 17 last year. In a second such translocation, 12 cheetahs were flown in from South Africa and released into Kuno on February 18. Three cheetahs died in March and April.
