Automobile major Maruti Suzuki hikes prices by 0.45% across models

Maruti Suzuki India on Tuesday said it has increased prices of its entire model range with immediate effect. An estimated weighted average of increase across models is 0.45 per cent, the auto major said in a regulatory filing. This indicative figure is calculated using ex-showroom prices of models in Delhi and will come into effect from January 16, 2024, it added. Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) sells a range of cars starting from Alto to Invicto, priced between Rs 3.54-28.42 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki entry-level hatchback Alto crosses 4.5 million sales mark

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Thursday said its entry-level hatchback Alto has crossed the 45 lakh sales milestone. The company first introduced the model in the year 2000 and by 2004 it became the country's highest-selling car. It crossed the 10 lakh sales mark in 2008; 20 lakh in 2012; 30 lakh mark in 2016. In August 2020, the model crossed the 40 lakh sales mark. "Achieving the 45 lakh customer milestone is a testimony to the unwavering support and trust that our customers have placed in us," MSI Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales) Shashank Srivastava said in a statement. The company is confident that brand Alto will continue to delight lakhs of more families with its undisputed legacy and exceptional ownership experience, he added.

A large section of customers still prefer hatchbacks despite sales growth of SUVs and Maruti Suzuki India feels the need to keep the small car segment 'energised' with new products, company MD & CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said on Thursday. The company, which on Thursday launched the all-new version of its small car Alto K10 with a price range of Rs 3.99- 5.83 lakh (ex-showroom), will continue to focus on all segments, including the entry-segment, even as it brings more technology and feature-packed products. "India is a vast country with a diverse demography. Just like cuisine and culture, customer requirements and preferences also change from place to place... Maruti Suzuki launches Alto BS VI S-CNG version, price starts at Rs 432,000

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Monday said it has launched BS VI compliant CNG version of its hatchback Alto with price starting at Rs 4.32 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). The Alto S-CNG offers a mileage of 31.59 km/kg, MSI said in a statement. "With the introduction of Alto BS6 S-CNG, we reinforce our efforts towards sustainable green mobility," MSI Executive Director (Marketing & Sales) Shashank Srivastava said. The launch of company's S-CNG vehicle range is aligned to government's vision of reducing oil import and enhancing the share of natural gas in the energy basket of the country from 6.2 per cent now to 15 per cent by 2030, MSI said. The auto major has already sold over 1 lakh BSVI Alto units in the country, it added.

Maruti Suzuki India's small car Alto crosses 3.8 million sales milestone

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Tuesday said its popular entry level small car Alto has crossed 38 lakh sales milestone. Launched in 2000, Alto crossed the 10 lakh sales mark in 2008 and in 2012 it reached the 20 lakh milestone. In 2016, the model crossed 30 lakh sales, the company said in a statement. It has been India's best-selling car for 15 consecutive years, Maruti Suzuki added. "Alto has been the preferred choice for entry car buyers due to several factors like its compact design, easy maneuverability, high fuel efficiency, updated safety features etc, while maintaining the affordability," MSI Executive Director (Marketing & Sales) Shashank Srivastava said.
