The combined market valuation of 6 of the top-10 most valued firms declined by Rs 94,433.12 crore last week, with Tata Consultancy Services and Reliance Industries taking the biggest hit, in line with a bearish trend in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark tumbled 742.74 points or 0.90 per cent. While Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bharti Airtel, Infosys and Hindustan Unilever suffered erosion from their market valuation last week, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) emerged as gainers. The valuation of TCS tumbled Rs 27,334.65 crore to Rs 11,54,115.65 crore, the most among the top-10 firms. Mcap of 8 top valued cos erodes by ₹2.07 trn; TCS, Airtel biggest laggards

The combined market valuation of eight of the top 10 valued firms eroded by Rs 2.07 lakh crore (Rs 2,07,501.58 crore) last week, with Tata Consultancy Services and Bharti Airtel emerging as the worst hit. Last week, the benchmark BSE Sensex dropped 932.42 points or 1.11 per cent. From the top 10 pack, only Bajaj Finance and Hindustan Unilever closed the week with gains in their valuation. Among major losers, the market valuation of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) tumbled Rs 56,279.35 crore to Rs 11,81,450.30 crore. Shares of TCS dropped nearly 3.50 per cent on Friday after its June quarter earnings failed to enthuse investors. Bharti Airtel's valuation eroded by Rs 54,483.62 crore to Rs 10,95,887.62 crore. The combined market valuation of six of the top-10 valued firms eroded by Rs 70,325.5 crore last week, with HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank emerging as the worst-hit in line with a bearish trend in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark Sensex dropped 626.01 points or 0.74 per cent. Nine of the top-10 most valued firms together added Rs 2,34,565.53 crore in market valuation last week, with Reliance Industries emerging as the biggest gainer, in-line with a buoyant trend in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark surged 1,650.73 points or 2 per cent. From the top-10 pack, Infosys emerged as the only laggard, facing erosion from its valuation. The combined market valuation of four of the top-10 most valued firms jumped Rs 1,01,369.5 crore last week, with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) emerging as the biggest gainer, in an otherwise sluggish trend in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark declined 270.07 points or 0.33 per cent.
