NDTV Q4 result: Net loss at Rs 8.74 cr, revenue up 59% on digital expansion

News broadcaster NDTV Ltd on Friday reported a 59 per cent jump in March quarter revenue as it expanded digital footprint, gaining a 39 per cent rise in traffic. Consolidated net loss of Rs 8.74 crore in January-March compared with loss of Rs 1.35 crore profit in the same period a year back, according to a stock exchange filing by the company. Loss, however, narrowed from Rs 10.13 crore in the December quarter as its digital footprint expanded and gained traction. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 106.52 crore from Rs 66.96 crore in the January-March period. "NDTV Convergence, the company's digital arm also witnessed a significant 39 per cent increase in global digital traffic in March 2024 over April 2023 on its platforms," a company statement said. NDTV Q3 results: Net loss at Rs 10.16 cr, revenue falls 7% to Rs 97.95 cr

News Broadcaster New Delhi Television Ltd on Tuesday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 10.16 crore for the third quarter ended December 2023. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 15.18 crore in the October-December quarter last fiscal, New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) said in a regulatory filing. Its consolidated revenue from operations fell 7 per cent to Rs 97.95 crore during the period under review. It was Rs 105.37 crore in the year-ago period, it added. "NDTV is monitoring revenue enhancement for its recently launched regional channels and business channel, which are the main contributors to the EBITDA loss incurred by the network during the quarter," said an earning statement. Its operating expenses increased 29 per cent year-on-year "due to regional channel expenses and re-launch expenses of business channel", which are in investment mode. Adani Group acquires majority stake in news agency IANS for undisclosed sum

Billionaire Gautam Adani's group has acquired a majority stake in news agency IANS India Pvt Ltd for an undisclosed sum as the group expands its presence in the media space. In a regulatory filing, Adani Enterprises -- the firm that holds the group's media interest -- said its subsidiary "AMG Media Networks Ltd has acquired a 50.50 per cent stake constituting equity shares of IANS India Pvt Ltd." The company did not disclose the acquisition price. Adani had forayed into media business in March last year when it acquired Quintillion Business Media, which operates business and financial news digital media platform BQ Prime. It thereafter in December took nearly 65 per cent stake in broadcaster NDTV. AMNL was the vehicle for these acquisitions as well. NDTV reported consolidated loss after tax of Rs 8.08 cr loss in Q1

News broadcaster NDTV Ltd on Thursday reported a consolidated loss after tax of Rs 8.08 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2023, impacted by lower revenue. The company had posted a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 25.81 crore in the first quarter of the last fiscal, NDTV said in a regulatory filing. Consolidated revenue from operations was at Rs 69.99 crore as against Rs 107.74 crore in the year-ago period, it added. Total expenses were marginally down at Rs 81.98 crore as compared to Rs 83.33 crore a year ago.

NDTV's shareholders approve appointments of new directors on board

Shareholders of the Adani-group-controlled NDTV have approved the proposals to appoint new directors to the board after Adani Group acquired the media firm. All special resolutions regarding the appointment of - Sanjay Pugalia and Senthil Sinniah Chengalvarayan - as directors, and U K Sinha and Dipali B Goenka as independent directors have got shareholders' nod through the e-voting process. Besides, another special resolution for approval of remuneration payable to Non-Executive Directors, including Independent Directors of the Company, was also approved, said the details of the voting results and scrutiniser's report on the postal ballot shared by NDTV to bourses. NDTV announces salary hikes across verticals "higher than industry average"

Adani group-owned media firm NDTV Ltd on Saturday announced a salary hike across all network verticals after going through a rigorous and transparent appraisal process. The "overall salary increase is 11.50 per cent, which is significantly higher than the industry average", said a statement from NDTV. The hike has been done just six months after New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) became part of the Adani group, it added. BSE, NSE put NDTV securities under short-term ASM framework from Tuesday

Leading bourses BSE and NSE will put the securities of NDTV, an Adani Group company, under the short-term ASM framework from Tuesday. The parameters for shortlisting securities under ASM include high-low variation, client concentration, number of price band hits, close-to-close price variation and price-earning ratio. HC permits Prannoy, Radhika Roy to travel abroad, says no flight risk

The Delhi High Court Tuesday granted permission to NDTV founders Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy to travel abroad for three weeks for business purpose and personal reasons. Justice Prathiba M Singh said owing to the professional standing of the petitioners, they do not pose a flight risk and are permitted to travel abroad from July 25 to August 15. The high court allowed them to visit the United Kingdom after fulfilling necessary conditions imposed by the court before the registrar. It also asked them to provide details of their itinerary to the registrar of the high court. Leading bourses BSE and NSE on Friday said that NDTV, an Adani Group company, will move out of the ASM framework from May 22. On March 17, both the bourses moved NDTV from the second to the first stage of the long-term Additional Surveillance Measure (ASM) framework. The stock is to be excluded from the ASM framework effective May 22, according to two separate circulars available on the BSE and NSE websites. Adani's NDTV plans to launch 9 news channels in different languages

Media firm New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV), now owned by Adani group, on Thursday said it plans to launch nine news channels in different Indian languages in phases. The board of the company, at its meeting held on Thursday, has "approved a proposal to seek the permission of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for the launch of nine news channels in different Indian languages in phases," NDTV said in a regulatory filing. It will intimate the stock exchanges on the launch date of the said channels post receipt of approval from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, it added. Last year in December, Adani Group had gained full control of news broadcaster NDTV after it acquired most of the stake of the founders -- Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy -- at a premium of almost 17 per cent over the rate it had paid to minority shareholders of the firm.
