Noida Airport's 1st phase development to cost Rs 10,056 cr, 70% spent

The first phase of development of the upcoming international airport in Noida will cost Rs 10,056 crore and so far, around Rs 7,100 crore has already been spent on it, officials said. Noida airport: Runway, ATC to be ready by Mar 2024; 7,200 workers stationed

The runway and the air traffic control (ATC) tower of the upcoming airport in Noida are expected to be ready by March 2024, according to project officials. During a review meeting, S P Goyal, the additional chief secretary to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and additional chief secretary, Civil Aviation, Uttar Pradesh government, was informed by the officials that about 7,200 workers haver been deployed and construction work is being carried out day and night for timely completion of the Greenfield project. "First of all, the construction work of ATC tower was reviewed. The ATC tower is to be built with eight floors, out of which the work of six floors has been completed and the work of the last two floors is underway. The height of the ATC tower is 30 meters and the construction will be completed by February 2024," according to an official statement. Working to provide touchless journey for customers at Noida airport: CEO

The upcoming Noida International airport will look to provide a touchless and seamless journey for customers in as transparent way as possible, a top executive said on Wednesday. The airport, coming up at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh and also the second airport in the national capital region, is expected to start operations late next year. Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL) CEO Christoph Schnellmann said it is working on defining the journey for customers that is as transparent as possible. It would be "touchless and seamless" as possible, he said. NIAL will be operating the airport. Housing, industrial land costs near upcoming Noida Airport hiked

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Monday announced a hike in rate of land, a move that will result in increased property rates near the upcoming Noida International Airport. The decision for land rate hike was announced after the 76th board meeting of the YEIDA, which functions under the Industrial Development Ministry of the Uttar Pradesh government and manages land along the 165-km-long Yamuna Expressway. According to an official statement, the land rate increase is across categories, including residential, group housing, industrial, institutional and commercial. The new rate of land for allocation or auction has been set at Rs 24,600 per square metre for the residential category, the statement mentioned. In 2022-23, it was Rs 18,510 per square metre, according to last year's statement. UP chief secretary reviews progress of upcoming Noida International Airport

Over 13,000 families to relocate in phase II development of Noida airport

Around 18,500 families will be affected by the second phase development of the Noida International Airport and over 13,000 of them will have to be relocated, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh said on Wednesday. The MLA said heeding to the demand of villagers, it has been decided that the families which need to relocate will now have two options for resettlement - near Faleda Cut and at Modelpur, both near the airport. "The farmers have the choice to choose either resettlement and rehabilitation location as per their convenience," he said at a press conference along with Jewar Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Abhay Singh. Noida airport: Proposal for second phase land acquisition sent to UP govt

The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has sent a proposal to the Uttar Pradesh government for the acquisition of land for the second phase of the Noida International Airport in Jewar, officials said Monday. The second phase of the greenfield airport is planned in an area of 1,365 hectares, of which around 1,185 hectares are owned by private persons, including farmers, of six villages, the officials said. The land is being acquired in accordance with the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. The proposal for land acquisition for the second phase of the Noida International Airport has been sent by the district administration to the government.
