Noida mall evacuates people sparking bomb threats; mall says security drill

Several people were evacuated from DLF Mall of India in Sector 18 here on Saturday triggering fear of a bomb threat even as the mall authorities said it was a security drill. The police have not yet issued any statement on the matter. A man, who identified himself as Avinash, said in a post on X that he was watching a movie when the audiences were asked to leave. "Whole Noida DLF mall is being evacuated, called as a mock drill," he posted on X. In another post on the social media platform, he shared the image of a vehicle of the bomb disposal squad at the mall and wondered if it was "still a mock drill". In a statement issued around 1.35 pm, the DLF Mall of India said the "activity" was a security drill conducted in collaboration with Noida authorities. The boards of Noida Authority and Greater Noida Authority on Tuesday adopted the Uttar Pradesh government's order to implement recommendations of the Amitabh Kant Committee on real estate projects, in a move aimed at helping buyers get homes soon and builders complete stuck projects. The decision will impact around 190 group housing projects across Noida and Greater Noida where developers are yet to clear dues amounting to around Rs 32,000 crore while over one lakh flats are yet to be delivered to buyers, according to official estimates. GNIDA registers over 3,000 flats in 3 months, eyes 6,000 by Diwali

Over 3,000 homebuyers have got their flats registered in the past three months, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority has said, adding that the number of registration is expected to reach 6,000 by Diwali. "From July 26 till now, flats have been registered in the names of 3,016 buyers," Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) said in a statement on Wednesday. The registration department has earned Rs 86.81 crore, it said. The authority also said it aims to register 6,000 flats and give possession their owners by Diwali in November. NG Ravi Kumar, cheif executive authority of GNIDA, said the authority has organised a special registration camp for the convenience of flat buyers during Navratri, which is considers an auspicious period. Cleaning work continues in full swing after Noida twin tower demolition

Cleaning work continued in full swing in the residential societies and roads around the now-demolished Supertech twin towers on Monday, Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari said. While scores of residents of Emerald Court and ATS Village societies in Sector 93A returned Sunday night, many others continued their journey back home Monday. Around 5,000 residents of the two societies closest to the twin towers were evacuated for the day ahead of the 2.30 pm explosion that brought down the towers in just 12 seconds along with thousands of tonnes of debris and clouds of dust that spread in the nearby areas. Noida twin tower case: 5,000 residents to be moved out on demolition day

More than 5,000 residents will vacate Emerald Court and ATS Village societies and over 2,500 vehicles will be removed from there on August 28 - the day of demolition for Supertech's illegal twin towers in Noida, officials said. While the twin towers had come up on premises of Emerald Court only, ATS Village is adjoining the illegal structures on the other side in Sector 93A of the city. The impact of the demolition of the nearly 100 metre tall twin towers would be maximum on these two societies and its residents, the officials said. In pursuance of a Supreme Court order that found the twin towers illegal, they are scheduled to be demolished at 2.30 pm on August 28 by controlled implosion technique. Over 3,500 kg of explosives will be used to raze them, according to officials of the demolition firm Edifice Engineering. According to the evacuation plan, finalised on Thursday, the residents of Emerald Court and ATS Village will have to vacate the premises by 7.30 am on August 28 and
