Realty firm Shakuntalam Landcraft plans to invest Rs 1,500 crore to develop an industrial park on a plot which once housed South Korean automobile maker Daewoo Motors's manufacturing plant at Surajpur in Greater Noida near here. The industrial park would house more than 600 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), a top company official said, adding that these MSMEs would generate an estimated 25,000 direct and indirect jobs in the area. The Uttar Pradesh government Tuesday said the first ever MotoGP event held in Greater Noida saw a footfall of more than one lakh people from India and around the world whilst registering business of over Rs 930 crore. Realty firm Godrej Properties Ltd on Monday said it has sold about 670 flats worth more than Rs 2000 crore in its new housing project at Noida on strong demands. Godrej Properties purchased the land through an e-auction conducted by the Noida Authority in November last year. In a regulatory filing, Godrej Properties informed that it has "sold 670 homes worth over Rs 2,000 crore in its project, Godrej Tropical Isle, located in Sector 146, Noida." This is Godrej Properties' most successful ever launch in terms of the value and volume of sales achieved, the company said. The project was launched in August. With a huge crowd expected during the weekend to witness MotoGP race, Gautam Buddh Nagar traffic officials on Saturday said only those private cabs will be allowed inside Buddh International Circuit in which the customers have a pass for the event. Cabs like Uber, Ola, InDrive would drop the customers having race passes inside the BIC and leave. However, taxis hired for longer durations could stay in the parking areas at the venue and pick up the customer after the race, a senior official said. The race will take place at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) along the Yamuna Expressway in the Dankaur area, over 50 km off New Delhi. The police have already enforced diversions for commercial vehicles entering Noida via DND or Greater Noida via Yamuna Expressway in order to reduce congestion on key roads for Saturday and Sunday. Vehicles carrying essential goods will face no restriction between 12 am and 6 am, 12 pm and 3 pm while there are no restrictions on movement of ambulances.

Some of the riders and team officials bound for the inaugural MotoGP round in India, including six-time champion Marc Marquez, are awaiting their visas ahead of the race this weekend. Sources in Repsol Honda Team confirmed to PTI that the arrival of its riders Marquez and Joan Mir in India has been delayed due to visa issues. Both the Spanish drivers were scheduled to visit the Honda India factory in Manesar on Wednesday but now that visit stands cancelled. "The riders are yet to reach India due to visa issues. Apollo Hospitals on Monday said it has tied up with MotoGP Bharat Grand Prix to provide medical support for the event. The capital-based Indraprastha Apollo Hospital would provide support for the first-ever MotoGP event in India to be held between September 22-24 at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The Noida Police on Sunday said it has arrested a general manager of a private construction company in connection with the lift crash that killed eight labourers, adding that the machine was operated "negligently" despite rain that morning. The responsibility of maintaining safety standards at the tower where the incident took place on Friday was with this accused general manager, who has been arrested, the police said. This is the second arrest in the case. The police have booked nine named people and some others over negligence with respect to the machinery and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Four more workers, who were hospitalised after a service lift crashed at an under-construction society in Noida Extension, succumbed to their injuries on Saturday, pushing the death toll in the incident to eight, officials said. A financial compensation of Rs 25 lakh each has been issued for families of those killed in the incident, a senior officer said. The lift had nine workers in it when it fell from the 14th floor of an under-construction tower at an Amrapali Dream Valley project site in Noida Extension, also known as Greater Noida (West), on Friday morning. The long-stalled project is being completed by the state-run NBCC under the monitoring of the Supreme Court. "Four workers had died after the incident on Friday. Five of them were admitted to the district hospital in a critical condition. As India gears up to host its maiden MotoGP event at the Buddha International Circuit in Greater Noida in a fortnight, the "sluggish pace" of raising infrastructure at the local level has officials worried. Sources told PTI that hundreds of signages and over two dozen cameras are yet to be installed along the highways that pass through Noida and Greater Noida up to the venue along the Yamuna Expressway. Some signages installed already have lost visibility due to trees or need modification. Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M on Friday held a meeting with two dozen real estate developers to discuss the recovery of Rs 26,000 crore in pending dues and difficulties faced by home buyers in 60 group housing projects, officials said. Expressing angst at the situation, the CEO directed his department that action, including the issuance of recovery certificates, should be initiated against builders who have not cleared their dues against the plots allotted to them, the Noida Authority said in a statement. The information regarding the dues should be published in the newspapers and the project site. Passengers not having change while purchasing tickets on Noida Metro can now avoid hassle by using the UPI payment facility across all the stations of the rail network. Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) Managing Director Lokesh M inaugurated the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment facility at the Sector 51 metro station of the Aqua Line on Thursday. "The UPI facility for purchasing tickets from counters is now functional at all stations of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro corridor," an official of the NMRC said. The use of cash, credit and debit cards for purchasing tickets at the counter as well as the NMRC smart card at the customer care centre at all stations will continue as usual, the official added. The Sector 51 metro station, which has six ticket counters and one customer care centre, also has two automatic ticket vending machines (TVM) which have the UPI facility. So far, only these two "prototype" TVMs are available at this station while a proposal to have more such .
