The average monthly rental for premium housing rose 28 per cent year-on-year in Gurugram during the January-June period of this year on higher demand, limited supply and appreciation in capital values, according to Savills India. Passengers not having change money for purchasing tickets on Noida Metro can now avoid hassle by using the UPI payment facility across all the stations of the rail network. Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) Managing Director Lokesh M inaugurated the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment facility at the Sector 51 metro station on Thursday. The UPI facility for purchasing tickets from counters is now functional at all stations of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro corridor, an official of the NMRC said. The use of cash, credit and debit cards for purchasing tickets at the counter or the NMRC smart card at the customer care centre at stations will continue as usual, the official added. Built at a cost of Rs 5,503 crore, the Aqua Line connects the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida in Gautam Buddh Nagar over a distance of 29.7 km through 21 stations.
An earthquake of magnitude 1.5 occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Noida, adjoining Delhi, on Wednesday night, according to the National Centre for Seismology. The earthquake occurred at 8.57 pm at a depth of six kilometre with the epicenter in the Sector-128 area of Noida, the NCS website showed. A tremor of magnitude 1.5 is rarely felt on the surface. Central investigation agencies met the Noida Police on Thursday in connection with the probe in the Pakistani citizen Seema Haider's illegal entry into India, official sources said. The meeting comes in the wake of Uttar Pradesh Police's Anti-Terrorist Squad questioning Seema and his Indian partner Sachin Meena on Monday and Tuesday. "Officials of central investigation agencies on Thursday morning met with senior officers of the Noida Police in connection with probe into the Seema Haider case," an official source told PTI. Police in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday invoked restrictions on public assembly under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), ordering that no unpermitted religious activity, such as namaz, puja or processions, would be carried out at public places and roads across Noida and Greater Noida. In unavoidable situations, permission for holding such activities would have to be taken from the commissioner of police or the additional commissioner of police or the deputy commissioners of police concerned of the three zones of the district, according to the order. The restrictions under CrPC section 144 would be effective from July 20 and would remain in force till August 3 for a period of 15 days, according to the order issued by Additional DCP (law and order) Hirdesh Katheriya. Oil regulator PNGRB has rejected Adani Total Gas Ltd's application for a licence to retail CNG to automobiles and piped gas to household kitchens in Noida, on the outskirts of the national capital, on grounds that it does not meet criteria. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) in an order dated July 14 said Adani Total Gas Ltd does not fulfill the requirements of law and so its application is rejected. Adani has been eyeing a city gas distribution (CGD) licence for cities adjoining the national capital for nearly two decades now. A firm can retail CNG or piped natural gas in a city only if it is authorised by the regulator or had permission from the central government prior to the regulator coming into existence. The National Disaster Response Force has rescued more than 900 animals, including cows, dogs, goats, rabbits and a bull worth Rs 1 crore, from the flood-affected areas of Delhi and Noida during the last few days, it said on Saturday. A spokesperson for the federal contingency force said its rescuers undertook a "significant" and "challenging evacuation" in Sector-135 of Noida, neighbouring Delhi, from where it rescued 221 livestock such as cows, calves and goats, dogs and rabbits and "India's number one bull, named Pritam". The bull is worth Rs 1 crore, the force said in a Twitter post. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 16 teams in Delhi, apart from a few others in the Delhi and the National Capital Region. Among the thousands of people impacted by the floods along Yamuna banks in Noida this week, there were hundreds who were hired as help in farmhouses built illegally in the low-lying areas near the river, officials said. Government officials said the workers and staffers of the farmhouses thousands in number were not moved to safety in time even as advisories were issued well before the area got inundated. These farmhouses are located near Nagli Wajidpur village in Sector 135 on the other side of the pushta (embankment) towards the Yamuna some two kms off the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. As many as 7,210 people were impacted by the floods as overflowing Yamuna inundated around 550 hectares of low-lying land along its banks in Noida and Greater Noida on Friday, while rescue and relief measures continued in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, officials said. Of the impacted people, 3,610 have been displaced and moved to shelter homes. As many as 5,974 animals, including cattle, dogs, rabbits, ducks, roosters, and guinea pigs, have also been moved out of submerged areas to safety since Thursday, they said. Max Ventures and Industries Ltd's (MaxVIL) real estate arm Max Estates has sold properties worth Rs 1,800 crore in its luxury housing project at Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Max Estates has "achieved pre-formal launch sales of over Rs 1,800 crores for its first luxury residential project, Estate 128, located in Sector 128, Noida", MaxVIL said in a regulatory filing. The project is spread over 10 acres, with three high-rise towers having 201 units. The company did not disclose the number of units sold and at what price. Max Estates will start construction of the project in this quarter and will achieve completion in 48-60 months. Established in 2016, Max Estates is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MaxVIL. Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL) is likely to invite this week expression of interest (EoI) for development of MRO facilities at the upcoming airport in Jewar near Delhi, according to officials. The EoI will be open till October this year and NIAL is expecting response for MRO not only from commercial airlines and private operators but also aircraft manufacturers, a senior officer said. MRO stands for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul in the aviation industry. It refers to the activities involved in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling aircraft, aircraft components, and systems to ensure their airworthiness and safe operation. The EoI for developing MRO facilities at Noida International Airport will be floated soon, likely this week.
