NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), the renewable energy arm of NTPC, on Wednesday posted around three-fold rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 233.21 crore in March 2025 quarter, driven by higher income. It had posted a net profit of Rs 80.95 crore in January-March period of preceding 2023-24 financial year, the company said in a filing. NGEL increased its income to Rs 751.50 crore from Rs 553.06 crore in the fourth quarter last fiscal. Expenses stood at Rs 444.63 crore as against Rs 425.84 crore in the same period a year ago. During FY25, the company completed its Initial Public Offering (IPO) comprising a fresh issuance of 92,63.29,669 equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 each. These shares were offered at an issue price of Rs 108 per share, which included 87,20,910 equity shares issued to eligible employees at a discounted rate of Rs 103 per share. State-run power giant NTPC on Wednesday said it has decided to raise Rs 4,000 crore through the issuance of non-convertible debentures on a private placement basis on May 9. Proceeds will be utilised for, inter alia, funding of capital expenditure, refinancing of existing loans and other general corporate purposes, according to a regulatory filing. According to the filing, the NTPC has decided to issue unsecured non-convertible debentures of Rs 4,000 crore on May 9, 2025, through private placement at a coupon rate of 6.84 per cent per annum for a tenor of 10 years, maturing on May 9, 2035, under the board resolution on June 29, 2024 and subsequent approval obtained through shareholders' resolution on August 29, 2024. This is the second issue of debentures under the above mentioned approval, it stated, adding that the debentures are proposed to be listed on the BSE.
Renewable energy solutions provider Suzlon on Wednesday said it has secured a 378 MW wind energy project from NTPC Green Energy, taking its total awarded capacity from the latter to 1,544 MW. This order strengthens Suzlon's market leadership and its commitment to sustainable, large scale growth, a company statement said. Furthering its strategic focus on building long term, high impact partnerships, Suzlon has just consolidated its largest partnership with NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) to 1,544 MW, with a recent award of a 378 MW wind energy project, it stated. As part of this contract, Suzlon will supply 120 S144 Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) with Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT), each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW, and also undertake foundation, erection, and commissioning for the project and will provide maintenance and services.
