BSP chief Mayawati Monday advised the Congress to refrain from spreading confusion by leaving seven Lok Sabha seats for the SP-BSP-RLD alliance in Uttar Pradesh. In a series of tweets, she said the Congress is free to field its candidates in all the 80 parliamentary constituencies of the state. An Army soldier was killed and three others injured as Pakistan violated the ceasefire for the second consecutive day along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Monday, officials said. The incident occurred in Keri Battal forward area and further details are awaited, they said. The cremation of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who passed away at the age of 63 after a battle with cancer will take place with full state honour on Monday evening.The funeral procession will be taken from Kala Academy, Panjim, at four in the evening and last rites will be performed at five in the evening at Miramar, an official statement said.Parrikar's mortal remains will be kept at the BJP head office, Panjim, between 9:30 am to 10:30 am and would be moved to Kala Academy for the public to pay their last respects. In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistan resorted to shelling with mortars and firing with small arms early on Monday morning along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district.Indian Army retaliated effectively.
