Central leadership to decide C'garh CM candidate: BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Brijmohan Agrawal on Sunday said that the central leaders of the party will decide who will become the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh if the party comes to power again in the state.Elections in Chhattisgarh were held in two phases on November 12 and 20. The counting of votes will take place on December 11.When asked about the chief ministerial candidate of BJP, Agrawal told ANI, "We can't take a decision on this. Central leadership will take a decision. Whatever they decide will be abided by."Raman Singh has been the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh from December 2003 till date.

Trump friend Roger Stone denies they discussed a pardon

Roger Stone, an informal adviser to US President Donald Trump, denied Sunday that the two had discussed a possible presidential pardon at a time when Stone is said to be under mounting scrutiny from prosecutors investigating Russian interference. Stone also denied having had any contact during the 2016 presidential campaign with Julian Assange, the creator of WikiLeaks, the site that published hacked messages from Trump's Democratic opponents in an apparent bid to influence the election. Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Sunday denied all allegations that the government was trying to make changes to the act governing permanent residence certificates in the Valley.In a statement issued by Raj Bhawan, Malik said, "I would like to mention that the government is not making or even considering any changes to the act governing Permanent Residence Certificates in the state. Kashmiri Pandits took out rally for Sharda Peeth corridor to PoK

More than 200 Kashmiri Pandits took out a protest march in Anantnag Sunday demanding that a passage on the lines of the Kartarpur Corridor for Sikhs be opened to facilitate devotees to visit the Sharda Devi temple in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Kashmiri Pandits held placards and raised slogans in support of reopening the passage to PoK. Sharda Peeth is an abandoned temple in Sharda village along the Neelam river across LoC. It was a major centre of learning and is regarded as one of the 18 highly-revered temples in South Asia. J&K Guv says reports of tampering with PRC act frivolous, unfounded

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik asserted Sunday that there was no attempt to tamper with the act governing the permanent resident certificate (PRC) in the state, saying such reports were "frivolous and unfounded". The governor's remarks came in reply to a letter by National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah earlier in the day, expressing concern over the reports of changes proposed to the procedure of granting permanent residence certificates in the state. In a minor administrative reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered transfer and posting of over a dozen KAS officers, an official spokesman said on Sunday.
