Uttar Pradesh recorded a voter turnout of over 60 per cent in the 10 constituencies where polling took place in the third phase on Tuesday, election officials said. A high voter turnout was recorded in the third and largest phase of Lok Sabha elections Tuesday covering 116 constituencies amid complaints of EVM malfunctioning in many states and killing of a man outside a booth in West Bengal. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya Tuesday said Article 370 of the Constitution, which gives autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir, will be scrapped after the BJP returns to power at the Centre.
