Adani Energy Solutions to acquire 100% stake in Pune- III Transmission

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) on Wednesday said it has signed a pact with PFC Consulting Ltd for acquisition of a project special purpose vehicle - Pune- III Transmission Ltd. The Pune- III Transmission Limited (PTL) projects include the establishment of new 2x1500 MVA, 765/400 kV and 3x500 MVA, 400/220 kV Pune-III substations and setting up of 816 ckm transmission line, according to a regulatory filing. AESL has "executed a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) with PFC Consulting Limited for acquiring 100 per cent equity shares of Pune- III Transmission Limited," the filing said. Under this pact, PTL will aim to implement evacuation of 7 GW of renewable energy from Khavda RE Park (Gujarat), under the Phase IV Part D package. The acquisition is proposed to further AESL's strategy of enhancing value for its shareholders through organic and inorganic opportunities. On acquisition cost, AESL said the equity shares will be acquired at a face value of Rs 10 each.

Five labourers killed, 5 injured as water tank collapses in Pune, 1 booked

Five labourers were killed and five others suffered injuries after a makeshift water tank collapsed at a labour camp in Maharashtra's Pune district on Thursday morning, police said. The incident took place in Bhosari area of Pimpri Chinchwad township when some labourers were taking bath under the water tank at around 6:15am, they said. "It seems a wall of the tank exploded due to the water pressure, leading to its collapse. The labourers who were below the water tank got trapped under the debris," Pimpri Chinchwad Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi said. "Three of them died on the spot while two others succumbed to injuries in a hospital. Five others sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment," another official said. "We have registered an offence under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against one Kumar Lomte. The construction of the water tank was of sub-standard quality. Baba Siddique murder plot hatched in Pune; 'shooters were given his photo'

The conspiracy to kill NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique was hatched in Pune and shooters were provided with a photo and a flex banner for the target identification, police said on Monday. Mumbai crime branch probing the sensational murder of the 66-year-old politician exposed the alleged role of Pune-based Pravin Lonkar and his brother Shubham Lonkar in the plot. "The motive behind the killing will be ascertained once the wanted accused are arrested," a police official said. Police have identified the Lonkar brothers as the key figures in the crime. The duo allegedly financed the shooters, coordinated logistics, and orchestrated meetings leading up to the attack. SC grants interim bail to former chairman of Pune Cooperative bank

The Supreme Court on Monday granted interim bail on medical grounds to former chairman of a Pune-based cooperative bank in a case linked to alleged fraud and misappropriation of funds of the lender worth Rs 429 crore. A bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra gave relief to Amar Sadhuram Mulchandani, the ex-chairman of the Seva Vikas Cooperative Bank, after taking note of his medical condition. The top court perused a report filed by a board of four expert doctors of the J J Hospital, Mumbai. It also took into account that Mulchandani has been inside jail for over an year. Siddique murder case: 'Co-conspirator' held from Pune; 3rd arrest so far

The Mumbai police have arrested a 28-year-old man from Pune who along with his brother enlisted two of the three alleged shooters in the Baba Siddique murder case, an official said on Sunday. Police called the man, Pravin Lonkar, a co-conspirator and said they are on the lookout for his brother Shubham Lonkar. This is the third arrest in the case. According to the crime branch official, Pravin and Shubham enlisted two alleged shooters, a UP resident and Shivkumar Gautam. While Gautam is on the run, police have arrested the UP resident and another alleged shooter, identified as Gurmail Baljit Singh (23). The official said police went to Pune looking for Shubham Lonkar but did not find him there. They then nabbed his brother Pravin for his alleged involvement in the crime, he said. Pune hit-and-run: Food delivery man killed after Audi hits two-wheeler

A food delivery man was killed after an Audi car driven by an allegedly drunk senior executive of a private firm hit his two-wheeler in Pune in the early hours of Friday, police said. The luxury car's driver Ayush Tayal (34) fled from the spot after the accident near Tadigutta in the city's Mundhwa area and was arrested later with the help off CCTV footage, an official said. "The incident took place at Koregaon Park, Mumdhwa road near Poonawala Fincorp around 1.30 am on Friday. Tayal's car first hit a couple of two wheelers, causing minor injuries to riders, just 100 metres away from the spot where food delivery person Rauf Akbar Shaikh's motorcycle was hit and he sustained injuries," said Manoj Patil, Additional Commissioner of Police (North Region). Pune court summons Rahul Gandhi on October 23 in Savarkar defamation case

A special court in Pune has summoned Rahul Gandhi in a criminal defamation case filed by the grandnephew of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, accusing the Congress leader of making objectionable remarks against the Hindutva ideologue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects of Rs 11,200 crore in Maharashtra via video conference. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new underground Metro in Pune and lay the foundation stone for an elevated route on September 26.
