Uphold principles vital for national resurgence: RSS chief to Sangh workers

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat concluded his five-day visit to Aligarh with a call to Sangh workers to uphold and propagate principles critical for social harmony and national resurgence. In his interaction with RSS functionaries from the Brij region of central Uttar Pradesh on the last day of his visit on Monday, Bhagwat stressed the urgent need to revive and reconstruct traditional Indian family values, which he described as the "bedrock of Indian society." He said familial practices rooted in ancient Indian traditions, such as regular shared mealtimes, were pivotal in shaping the moral fabric of society. A second key principle highlighted by Bhagwat was the promotion of Samrasta' -- a spirit of social harmony. He urged RSS pracharaks to actively work towards eliminating caste-based discrimination, calling it a divisive force that weakens the social fabric. Bhagwat also praised Dr B R Ambedkar for his role in laying the foundation of a socially cohesive and equitable India. The nation

Ancient Indian knowledge system very useful for rebuilding world: Bhagwat

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday said the world is looking up to India for solutions, stressing the significance of the country's ancient knowledge systems in the process of world rebuilding. Addressing a gathering at the launch of a book on Vedic Mathematics, Bhagwat highlighted the importance of traditional Indian wisdom with modern scientific knowledge for global welfare. He said the knowledge embedded in our shastras (sacred scriptures) is not only vital to the Indian knowledge system but also offers immense value in the global context. "The world is looking up to India for solutions and the ancient Indian knowledge system is very useful for rebuilding the world," Bhagwat said. He said the world has been seeking solutions from India for a long time, and today, the demand is more pronounced, as they are not getting any other solution. He further said that if India aspires to lead the world, it must reflect on the knowledge that has been developed over t

Western liberal ideas in India a threat to our culture: Dattatreya Hosabale

Western liberal ideas "operating" in India through various means and avenues are posing a threat to the country's cultural continuity, RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said on Wednesday, exhorting people to wake up and stall it. It's a new method of colonisation in the name of liberalisation and globalisation by painting all cultural nationalities and civilisations in one colour and putting them in one framework, he said while addressing an event here. I may be saying very serious things... Once our new generation's mind is filled with these things, then one generation is lost. The cultural continuity will be lost, he said. It's a very serious thing now which we all have to be aware of and see that they are stalled right there, Hosabale added. The RSS general secretary was addressing an event organised to launch a book, Who is Raising Your Children: Breaking India With Youth Warriors', authored by Rajiv Malhotra and Vijaya Viswanathan. The wokeism, which has been in here,

Country's 'true independence' on Ram temple consecration day: Bhagwat

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said the date of Ram temple consecration in Ayodhya should be celebrated as "Pratishtha Dwadashi", as the "true independence" of Bharat, which faced "parachakra" (enemy attack) for several centuries, was established on this day. After India got political independence from the British on August 15, 1947, a written Constitution was made according to the path shown by that specific vision, which comes out of the "self" of the country, but the document was not run according to the spirit of the vision at that time, Bhagwat said on Monday. According to the Hindu calendar, the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya took place on Dwadashi of 'Shukla Paksha' of the Paush month last year. The date in the Gregorian calendar was January 22, 2024. This year, the Paush Shukla Paksha Dwadashi fell on January 11. Bhagwat asserted that the Ram temple movement was not started to oppose anyone. This movement was started to awaken the "self" (swa) of Bharat so that the

From Somnath to Sambhal, battle for knowing historical truth: Organiser

Days after Mohan Bhagwat frowned at the resurgence of temple-mosque disputes in the country, the latest issue of an RSS-linked magazine has said from Somnath to Sambhal and beyond, it is a battle for knowing historical truth and seeking "civilisational justice". Amid a cacophony over who has insulted B R Ambedkar, even though historical records "clearly indicate" how the Congress treated the chairman of the Constitution's drafting committee, recent developments in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal have struck "a chord with the masses", the editorial published in the latest issue of "Organiser" noted. It said the dispute that started with a petition to survey the Shri Harihar Mandir, "now structured" as the Jama Masjid in the "historic town" of Uttar Pradesh, is opening up a new debate about various constitutional rights given to individuals and communities. "Instead of limiting the debate to the Hindu-Muslim question from the pseudo-secularist prism, we need a sane and inclusive debate on the

RSS chief Bhagwat bats for inclusive society, frowns upon new disputes

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has expressed concern over resurgence of several temple-mosque disputes and said certain individuals, after the construction of Ayodhya Ram temple, seem to believe they can become leaders of Hindus by raking up such issues. Delivering a lecture on India The Vishwaguru', at Sahjeevan Vyakhyanmala (lecture series) here on Thursday, Bhagwat advocated for an inclusive society and said the world needs to be shown that the country can live together in harmony. Highlighting the plurality of Indian society, the chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said Christmas is celebrated in Ramakrishna Mission, adding only we can do this because we are Hindus. We have been living in harmony for a long time. If we want to provide this harmony to the world, we need to create a model of it. After the construction of the Ram Mandir, some people think they can become leaders of Hindus by raking up similar issues in new places. This is not acceptable, he said. The Ram temple w

India often advised on minorities, we can see others' situations: Bhagwat

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said India is often advised to address the issues of its minorities, but now we are seeing the situation minority communities face in other countries. Speaking at the inauguration of 'Hindu Seva Mahotsav' here, he also said that an attempt is being made to establish hegemony by talking about world peace. "Big announcements are being made about world peace. We (India ) are also being advised about world peace, but at the same time, wars are not stopping. While we are often told to worry about the minorities in our country, we are witnessing what kind of situation minorities are facing outside," he said. While the RSS chief made no reference to the violence against the Hindu community in neighbouring Bangladesh, the RSS has, in the recent weeks, expressed concern about the situation of the Hindus in that country after the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina government. "Manav dharma (humanity) is the eternal dhamra of all the

Amit Shah's remarks on Ambedkar, extension of RSS ideology: Siddaramaiah

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday hit out at Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks on B R Ambedkar, calling it an insult to the chief architect of the Constitution. Shah's remarks in Parliament are just an extension of long-standing RSS ideology, he said. The chief minister said without Ambedkar's contributions, Shah wouldn't be the Home Minister and Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. The CM was referring to Shah's remarks taking a swipe at the opposition, during a debate on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha. "Abhi ek fashion ho gaya hai - Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar. Itna naam agar bhagwan ka lete to saat janmon tak swarg mil jata (It has become a fashion to say Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar'. If they had taken God's name so many times, they would have got a place in heaven)," Shah had said. For the Congress party and him (Siddaramaiah), Ambedkar is not a "fashion" but an "eternal inspiration", the
