Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu today said that a heritage street will be developed near the Durgiana temple here to give a major facelift to the religious place and facilitate the pilgrims. A caretaker of a mosque in Uttar Pradesh's Kakori area was found dead inside the mosque premises, on Wednesday.The 60-year-old caretaker, identified as Imtiyaz, was found with his throat slit. The board's request comes a day after Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that Namaz should be only offered in mosques, Eidgahs, and private areas. Prayer promotes peace and no tension should be allowed in the name of worshipping god, Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said today after a minister in the Haryana government reportedly said namaz could not be offered anywhere in the open "with the intention of grabbing land". Bangladesh has proposed restructuring of the charter of the Organisation of Islamic Conference to pave way for inclusion of non-Muslim countries like India as an "observer state". The OIC is a 57-member grouping of Muslim majority nations. "A number of countries not OIC members, have large number of Muslims as their citizens . . . There is a need to build bridges with those non-OIC countries," Bangladesh's foreign minister Mahmud Ali said as his counterparts in the group joined in their annual council called Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Dhaka.
