MP partners with Magic Bus to bring life skills programme to govt schools

Magic Bus India Foundation, a non-profit organisation that provides education and skilling, on Monday said it has partnered with Madhya Pradesh government to introduce project 'Saksham' -- a life skills education programme -- in government schools. The Department of Tribal Affairs of Madhya Pradesh has partnered with Magic Bus India Foundation to empower master trainers and government school teachers, equipping them to deliver life skills education while nurturing the well-rounded development of adolescents across 20 districts and 89 blocks in the state, the non-profit organisation said in a statement. Magic Bus will provide training to master trainers, who will then train 18,000 government teachers, to impart life skills to around one million adolescents across 9,000 government schools that include CM Rise Schools, Middle Schools, Special Residential Schools including Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), Kanya Shiksha Parisar (KSP), Model Residential Schools (MRS) Hostels and .

Andhra court extends remand of ex-CM Naidu till Sept 24 in corruption case

A court here on Friday extended the judicial remand of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the case pertaining to AP Skill Development Corporation scam till September 24. Additional Advocate General Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy told PTI that the special court for Anti-Corruption Bureau here extended the former Chief Minister's remand by two days. Meanwhile, the High Court has scheduled the hearing on the FIR quash petition filed by Naidu at 1:30 pm today. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested on September 9, for allegedly misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation, leading to an alleged loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer. He is currently lodged in the Rajamahendravaram central prison.

Inviting training partners and India Inc to collaborate with the government on the Prime Minister's Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0, a top official on Wednesday said the Centre is keen on having a Recruit-Train-Deploy model for its flagship skilling scheme. Naidu files bail petitions in court in Skill Development Corporation case

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who has been remanded to 14 days in judicial custody for his alleged role in a multi-crore Skill Development Corporation scam, has filed two bail petitions, interim and regular, in a local court. In the interim bail petition, Naidu denied all the allegations levelled against him and claimed that there was no prima facie evidence on record against him. "We have filed two petitions, one is for interim bail and another for regular bail. However, the hearing may not be done today (Friday)," advocate G Subba Rao, a member of Naidu's legal team, told PTI. Rao said the Crime Investigation Department is yet to file a counter to their bail pleas. Hence, he noted that the hearing may not come up on Friday. However, the CID has been served the notice and is yet to reply, the advocate said. The bail petitions were filed on Thursday at the ACB Court which remanded Naidu. Ericsson, TSSC set up 'Center of Excellence' to train in 5G, emerging tech

Ericsson and Telecom Sector Skill Council on Wednesday launched a Center of Excellence to train students in 5G and emerging technologies. Around 300 students will receive training in the first year of the programme as part of the CoE (Center of Excellence) set up at the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) in Okhla Phase II. The industry-approved training modules include 5G network engineering, handheld devices and Internet of Things (IoT) devices and systems and line assembly of telecom products. Students will be provided theory lessons and hands on practical training in the Skill Labs of the CoE. Nearly 90% youth trained at skill centre employed at Mopa airport: Goa CM

Nearly 90 per cent of students who underwent training at the Aviation Skill Development Centre (ASDC) are now employed at Manohar International Airport (MIA) in Mopa, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told the state legislative assembly on Tuesday. Responding to a question tabled by Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar, the chief minister said while the objective of the ASDC is to train the youth of Goa to find employment in the industry, it does not, however, guarantee a job. A total of 1,032 youths underwent training at the ASDC, of which 991 have been absorbed to work at the MIA as on June 30, he said, adding that the trend may not continue in the future, as most of the vacancies at the airport are already filled. Skill development ministry partners with AWS India to skill students in AI

The Directorate General of Training under Ministry for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is collaborating with Amazon Web Services India to upskill students in emerging technologies. The free online programmes in cloud computing, data annotation, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning will be available on DGT's Bharat Skills Platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS) said in a release. AWS will also provide nominated education institutions under DGT with ready-to-teach cloud computing curriculum to prepare students for certifications and relevant roles in cloud, it added. TN skill development centre eyes to create 10,000 new jobs in BFSI segment

Tamil Nadu Skill Development Centre has drawn up plans to generate 10,000 jobs in the banking and financial services sector under the government's 'Naan Mudhalvan' scheme. Industry leaders engaged in the BFSI sector at a recent round table meeting extended their support to the state government's skilling initiatives to train the youth and college students. Naan Mudhalvan CEO (Tamil Nadu skilling and capability enhancement platform) M Jayaprakasan, chief mentor Sai Reddy highlighted the need for scaling up the BFSI sector at the meeting.
