Hussey swims against tide, says Ashwin should play ahead of Kuldeep

'Swimming' against the tide, former Australia cricketer Mike Hussey today said India should prefer veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin over Kuldeep Yadav in the upcoming Test series against England. "I don't know what the selectors are thinking. Personally, I feel Ashwin should play ahead of Kuldeep. He has more than 300 Test wickets. Ashwin deserves his place in the starting XI," 'Mr Cricket', as he is fondly called, said. Hussey's opinion is in contrary to the prevailing viewpoint of many experts, who have backed the 23-year-old chinaman bowler's selection in the Test squad for the five-match series. "Ashwin against the left-handers could play a big role. Kuldeep has done brilliantly but I feel India should persist with Ashwin. Kuldeep is young and can learn along the way," Hussey, who is here as a Star Sports commentator for Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), said. Asked if India could win the Test series, he said the team has a great chance. "India is a good team playing good ..

I am excited but nervous too, says Dinesh Karthik

He is nervous but Dinesh Karthik can't escape a feeling of deja vu as he gets ready to don the big gloves in a Test series in England exactly 10 years after his impressive knocks against the same opposition. Interestingly, Karthik is the only surviving player from that tour of 2007, when India last won a Test series in England under Rahul Dravid. "I don't remember so far back, my memory is so bad. Hamilton dances in the rain to take pole in Mercedes lockout

Lewis Hamilton danced in the rain on his way to a memorable pole Saturday ahead of his team-mate Valtteri Bottas as Mercedes secured a front row lockout for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The championship leading Briton, who is battling with Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel for a fifth drivers' world title, delivered another master-class in wet-weather driving and perfect timing. He chose to go for his final flying lap in the dying seconds of the session and grabbed pole with a lap that produced his team's fourth lockout of the season. Six days after his epic drive from 14th on the grid to win the rain-hit German Grand Prix last Sunday, he claimed his sixth pole in Hungary, his fifth this year and the 77th of his career. "Are we good?" Hamilton asked his team over the radio. "We're good," came the reply. "It's great for the team to have a one-two," added Hamilton. "Jeez. We couldn't have expected this. Kohli's extra motivation could prove to be dangerous for England: Gooch

Former England captain Graham Gooch reckons Virat Kohli's "extra motivation" could prove to be dangerous for the home side in what will be a tight Test series due to the prevailing heatwave in the country. The first Test starts in Birmingham on August 1. "He (Kohli) is a top ranked player in the world at the moment and I think a dangerous customer for England as he has the motivation to improve his record in this country. Every player wants to be known to be able to play well in all sorts of conditions," Gooch told BCCI.TV in an interview. A discussion on Kohli led to inevitable comparison with his English counterpart Joe Root and according to Gooch, what sets the duo apart, is their ability to play match- winning knocks under any circumstances. "Well, they are both world class players across formats of the game. They are both match-winning players. I love watching Virat Kohli and Joe Root bat. They both play all round the wicket and they are both positive, very focussed and I like to
