Proteas' de Bruyn pens short-term county deal with Surrey
South Africa batsman Theunis de Bruyn has been roped in by Surrey for their next two matches of the County Championship Division One.Confirming the news, De Bruyn said that he would play for English county Surrey in their upcoming two Championship matches against Somerset and Yorskshire."I am delighted to be joining Surrey, a club with rich history, for the next two Championship matches. It has always been one of my ambitions to play county cricket," Sport24 quoted De Bruyn, as saying.The 25-year-old, who has appeared in just five Test matches for South Africa, will then join back the national side for their two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, beginning July 12 at the Galle International Stadium.On a related note, Surrey are slated to play their next match against Somerset from Wednesday.

Bangladesh have left out Mustafizur Rahman from their 15-man squad for next month's Test series against West Indies after the pacer failed to recover from an injury. The 22-year-old left-arm seamer, who has claimed 26 wickets in 10 Tests, hurt his left big toe last month during an Indian Premier League match he played for the Mumbai Indians. Mustafizur was yet to regain his fitness from the injury which also forced him to miss the recent three-match Twenty20 series against Afghanistan, chief selector Minhajul Abedin said Monday. "Barring a miracle he is unlikely to be fit before the second Test, so we left him out from the squad," Abedin said. The first Test will be played in Antigua from July 4 while the second and final Test will be held in Kingston, Jamaica from July 12.
