Rayudu gets two-match ban for breaching BCCI Code of Conduct
Hyderabad skipper Ambati Rayudu has been handed a two-match suspension by the BCCI for breaching the Code of Conduct during his side's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Karnataka on January 11. "Mr Rayudu is barred from participating in the first two matches for Hyderabad in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy," a BCCI release said. "The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Mr Abhijit Deshmukh, Mr Ulhas Vithalrao Gandhe, and third umpire Mr Anil Dandekar. The BCCI is further looking into the role of Hyderabad Team Manager in this untoward incident," it added. During the match Hyderabad's deep mid-wicket fielder Mehdi Hasan's foot had touched the ropes, but the on-field umpires did not check with the third umpire and signalled two instead of a boundary to Karun Nair. Hyderabad cricket team captain Ambati Rayudu has been handed a two-match suspension for breaching the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s Code of Conduct.The board found him guilty for violating its code during the Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy match between Hyderabad and Karnataka on January 11."Rayudu has been barred from participating in the first two matches for Hyderabad in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy," an official statement from the BCCI read.The statement further informed, "Rayudu pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by BCCI and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing.The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Abhijit Deshmukh, Ulhas Vithalrao Gandhe, and third umpire Anil Dandekar.The BCCI is further looking into the role of Hyderabad Team Manager in this untoward incident.

Yorkshire County club signs Pujara
Indian middle-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has been signed by Yorkshire to play in the County Championship.Pujara will be available for the 2018 England domestic season in April as he went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction for the 11th edition of the tournament, which will also be held in the same month.The right-handed batsman has earlier played for Yorkshire in the 2015 County Championship, when the club won."I'm really excited to be able to have the opportunity to represent Yorkshire once again," ESPNcricinfo quoted Pujara as saying.He added, "Each time I've played county cricket it has improved me as a player. A 14-year-old student smashed an unbeaten 1,045 not out in a local cricket tournament in neighbouring Navi Mumbai, his coach claimed today. Tanishq Gavate played this knock over two days - yesterday and today - at the semi-final of the tournament at the Yashwantrao Chavan English Medium School ground in Koparkhairne, his coach Manish told PTI.
