South Africa: Kohli loses his cool in post-match media address

India skipper Virat Kohli lost his cool in a press conference on Wednesday when mediapersons questioned the captain about the team selection, while linking it with series loss against South Africa."What is the best 11?" Kohli counter-questioned a reporter."If we had won this, was this the best 11? We don't decide the 11 according to results. You are telling me that you could have played the best 11. You tell me the best 11 and we will play that," the skipper said after India lost the second Test and the series at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Wednesday. In another question from a mediapersons, Kohli was asked whether the team was losing because of too many changes in the team, to which he replied, "How many Test matches have we won out of 34? How many have we won? How many have we won? 21 wins (20 actually). Two losses. How many draws? Does it matter? Wherever we play we try to do our best. I'm here to answer your questions, not to fight with you."India suffered a 135-run defeat .

Two Koreas agree to march together at Winter Olympics opening

The two Koreas agreed today to march together under a single flag at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony and field a united women's ice hockey team for the Games in a further sign of easing tensions on the peninsula. North Korea also said it would send a 550-member delegation to the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in the South, Seoul said, as the two sides met to discuss athlete numbers in the latest in a flurry of cross-border talks. Nuclear-armed Pyongyang agreed last week to take part in next month's Pyeongchang Games which are taking place just 80 kilometres (50 miles) south of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that divides the peninsula. Seoul has long sought to proclaim the event a "peace Olympics" in the face of tensions over the North's weapons programmes -- which have seen it subjected to multiple UN Security Council sanctions -- and the discussions represent a marked improvement. The two Koreas will march together under a pro- unification flag at the opening ...

Real without Ronaldo unimaginable - Zidane

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane today dismissed media speculation linking superstar Cristiano Ronaldo with a move away from the Bernabeu. "I can't imagine a Madrid without Cristiano," said the Frenchman, a World Cup winner as a player. "He's in his club. Everyone, the club, the fans, want him. "We know what can be said outside but within, what Cristiano must do is just think about playing as he has been doing, and that's what I want, to talk only about his attitude and what he can bring us." With the January transfer window open, speculation has been rife over a possible exit for Ronaldo from the Spanish capital, with former club Manchester United a rumoured eventual destination. Some have been trying to read an intent to leave into his attitude but Zidane insists Ronaldo has only one focus. "I speak with Cristiano about the pitch and when he comes here he only talks about the pitch and that's best for everyone," added the coach who has led Real to back-to-back ...

Zimbabwe batsmen Hamilton Masakadza and Sikandar Raza set up the win with half-centuries that took the team's total to 290-6 after being put into bat first. In reply, Thisara Perera, hitting five fours and three sixes, fought a lonely battle after Sri Lanka slipped to 181- 5, but his departure spelt doom for the islanders. Wadekar blames lack of time to 'acclimatise' for SA loss

Former cricketer Ajit Wadekar has blamed the lack of time for Team India to "acclimatise" in South Africa for their humiliating Test series loss to the Proteas. The 135-run defeat in Centurion today ended India's nine-Test series winning run as South Africa took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match rubber. The Virat Kohli-led side had lost the first Test in Cape Town by 72 runs. The 76-year-old former India skipper, however, praised the captaincy of Kohli. "He (Kohli) is a good captain, but basically (in) South Africa (it) is very difficult to win, because the wickets are very fast. "Our team did not have enough time to get acclimatised to those conditions (in South Africa) and that may be the reason (for the loss)," Wadekar told PTI. India had decided not to play the practise game going into the first Test at Cape Town, which eventually they lost as the batsmen faltered in the second innings and the team folded up for 135. A similar collapse was witnessed today ..
