A gutsy Elina Svitolina willed herself to the semi-finals after overcoming Caroline Wozniacki in a gruelling three-set match, knocking the defending champion out of the WTA Finals in Singapore. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma Thursday laid the foundation stone for construction of a Rs 5 crore indoor practice facility for cricket and a gymnasium here. Former India captain Sourav Ganguli and BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhury were also present at the foundation stone laying function. The project is estimated to cost Rs 5.35 crore and will be funded by the BCCI.
