BJP Central Election Committee to meet to discuss state poll preparations

EC discusses Telangana Assembly poll preparations, assures logistic support

An Election Commission (EC) team held meeting with Telangana Chief Secretary here on Saturday as part of the preparations for the Legislative Assembly polls to be held later this year. Telangana Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari met with the EC officials and assured them of all logistical support required to conduct the elections smoothly, a release from the office of state Chief Electoral Officer said today. 400 companies of central forces to be deployed in Tripura's assembly polls

A total of 400 companies of central forces will be deployed in Tripura to ensure free and fair assembly elections later this month, a senior police officer on Wednesday. Elections to the 60-member assembly will be held on February 16.
