Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday kickstarted the NDA's 2026 election campaign in Tamil Nadu, mounting a spirited attack on the ruling DMK on issues, including corruption and coined an abbreviation--CMC-- to lash out at the Dravidian party. TN Assembly passes resolution urging Centre to continue with MGNREGA

The Tamil Nadu assembly on Friday adopted a resolution urging the Centre to continue with the MGNREGA to protect the livelihoods of the rural population in the state. The resolution was moved by Chief Minister M K Stalin. SC seeks responses on ASI takeover plea for Thirupparankundram temple

The Supreme Court on Friday sought a response from the Centre, the Tamil Nadu government and others on a plea seeking directions on the ASI's takeover of the Thirupparankundram temple and daily lamp lighting on top of the 'deepathoon' (stone pillar). Karur stampede: Vijay appears before CBI for second round of questioning

TVK chief and actor Vijay was at the CBI headquarters here on Monday for the second round of questioning in connection with the Karur stampede case, officials said. The actor arrived at the agency headquarters in Lodhi Road in a fleet of luxury SUVs this morning they said. SC refuses producer's plea on Vijay-starrer 'Jana Nayagan' censor clearance

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to entertain a plea filed by the producer of Vijay-starrer Tamil film "Jana Nayagan", challenging an interim order of the Madras High Court that stayed a single-judge direction to grant censor board clearance to the movie. A bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Augustine George Masih, which questioned the pace at which the case was dealt in the Madras High Court, asked the film producers to approach the division bench of the high court for relief. TVK chief Vijay appears before CBI for questioning in Karur stampede case

TVK chief and actor Vijay appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday for questioning in connection with the Karur stampede case, officials said. The Tamil superstar reached the CBI headquarters here and was taken to the team investigating the stampede, which occurred during a rally he addressed on September 27 last year in Karur, Tamil Nadu. The incident left 41 people dead and more than 60 injured. The CBI has questioned several office bearers of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in connection with the case, the officials said.
