Toyota introduces Rumion, looks to bolster presence in MPV segment

Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Thursday introduced an all-new model Rumion in the country as it looks to further strengthen its position in the robustly growing domestic multi purpose vehicle (MPV) segment. The seven-seater model comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated with a five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions. It also features a CNG trim. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said the prices and booking date of the model will be announced in due course of time. It, however, noted that the vehicle be available from the early festive season in dealerships for deliveries. "At Toyota, we believe in going beyond delivering world-class vehicles. Toyota logs 2-fold growth with highest monthly sales in May at 20,410 units

Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Thursday said its total sales surged two-fold to 20,410 units in May, its highest-ever in a month. The automaker had dispatched 10,216 units in the same month last year. The company said its domestic wholesales last month stood at 19,379 units. It also exported 1,031 units of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder in May. Toyota Kirloskar commences 3rd shift at K'taka plant to enhance production

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has initiated a third shift at its Karnataka-based plant to enhance production capacity by around 30 per cent, as it looks to cut down waiting periods on some of its popular models like Innova Crysta and Fortuner.
