Warm Sunday in Delhi, maximum temperate at 34.3 degrees Celsius

It was a warm Sunday in the national capital, with the maximum temperature settling at 34.3 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature was recorded at 21 degrees Celsius, three notches above the normal for this time of the year. The humidity level oscillated between 49 and 21 per cent. The national capital recorded 0.3 mm rainfall till 8.30 am on Sunday morning. The weatherman predicted strong surface winds during day time on Monday and the maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 33 and 19 degrees celsius respectively. Delhi recorded a maximum of 39.2 degrees Celsius Saturday even as some parts of south and central Delhi recorded light rains. The minimum temperature was recorded at 20 degrees Celsius.

Mercury level soars in T'gana; Hyderabad temperature touches

Mercury level is on the rise in Telangana with most districts experiencing over 40 degree Celsius temperature Sunday. According to Meteorological Department,Adilabad recorded the highest temperature with 42.3 degree Celsius followed by Nizamabad, which registered 42.1 even as the temperature in the capital city recorded a maximum of 40.9 degree Celsius. Adilabad Saturday had recorded highest temperature of 42.3 degree Celsius while Hyderabad experienced 40.2 degree Celsius. The Met department forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places over the state and the maximum temperature would remain above normal by 2 to 4 degree Celsius at a few places Sunday and Monday. The department also warned of very likely occurence of thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds and lightning at isolated places in a few districts Sunday and Monday.

Temperature increases in Himachal

The minimum and maximum temperatures increased by one to two notches in Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours, the Meteorological Department said. Minimum temperatures increased by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours, the MeT Centre, Shimla, said. The lowest temperature of 2.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in tribal district Lahaul- Spiti's administrative centre Keylong, it said. Similarly, the maximum temperatures increased by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours, it said, adding that the highest temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius in the state was recorded in Una. The weather remained dry over the state during the same period, it added. However, the MeT Department predicted snowfall, rain in high, middle hills and thundershowers in low hills, plains for Saturday.

The Meteorological Department has forecast snowfall and rain in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh on Friday and Saturday. Thundershowers have been predicted for the lower hill and plain areas, said the Meteorological Centre in Shimla.
