Over 25 crore workers from sectors like banking, insurance, and others are expected to join a nationwide strike tomorrow, on 9th July.
The strike has been organised by a joint forum of 10 central trade unions against what they call the government’s “anti-worker, anti-farmer, and pro-corporate policies.”
The Bihar Cabinet approved 35% reservation for women with local domicile in government jobs. The decision comes just months ahead of the state Assembly elections.
Former Sebi Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch called claims of regulatory failure in the Jane Street case “false.” Buch said Sebi began investigating the matter in April 2024 and had been working on verifying data before issuing its order barring Jane Street from Indian financial markets.
