Scuffle breaks out between TMC MP and security forces in WB's Howrah

Howrah (West Bengal), May 06 (ANI): Amidst the Lok Sabha elections, a massive scuffle broke out between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) Member of Parliament (MP) Prasun Banerjee and security forces in West Bengal's Howrah today. The scuffle broke out at polling booth number 49 and 50 in Howrah. Prasun Banerjee is MP of TMC from WB's Howrah. Fifth phase of LS elections are underway for 51 parliamentary constituencies across the seven states in India today.

LS polls: EC is working in favor of BJP, says OP Rajbhar

Ballia (UP), May 06 (ANI): While speaking to media, regarding leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) president OP Rajbhar said, "I had resigned on 13th night from post of the state minister, when they (BJP) said that you contest on our symbol, I told them we will fight on our symbol and that too on 1 seat. But they didn't agreed to that either. They didn't accept my resignation. I have filed a written complaint to Election Commission, but Election Commission is also working in favor of BJP."

Siddharthnagar (UP), May 06 (ANI): While addressing a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh's Siddharthnagar, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "When PM Modi said in 2013 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,' we didn't looked at somebody's caste and have given the house, but yes it was happening at the time of previous governments, out of 75 districts, 4 districts will get electricity and 71 districts will be deprived of it. No Electricity will be available for Holi or Deepawali but will be available for Eid and Muharram. We ended this discrimination. We said if electricity will be available for Eid and Muharram then it will also be available for Holi and Deepawali."

Pakistan's crackdown continues in GB, timber traders face hammer

Diamer, Gilgit Baltistan, May 06, 2019:- Hundreds of legal timber traders from the illegally occupied region of Pakistan are demonstrating against the government of Pakistan as they have been asked to pay unreasonable taxes on the stock they will be selling in other parts of the country. They dub the taxes as a part of the line of exploitative policies that are being employed by Islamabad to hinder the growth of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. The traders have blocked the Karakoram highway, which links the region to Pakistan. They accuse Islamabad of conveniently altering, repealing, and even introducing legislation to damage the trade of Gilgit-Baltistan. They said that they are bearing the brunt of one such policy.

Nepal Army starts "Janata Awas" rehabilitation program for storm survivors

Birgunj (Nepal), May 06 (ANI): Nepal Army flagged off the "Janata Awas" rehabilitation program for the storm survivors of southern Nepal's district of Bara and Parsa. The cabinet meeting of incumbent government under Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli decided to deploy the Nepal Army to construct a total of 1,453 houses in Bara and Parsa district of southern Nepal. A total of 2,332 army personnel with expertise in construction, including engineers, are stationed in 12 different places of the storm-torn districts. The army started constructing houses for the people who were rendered homeless when a high-intensity storm hit both the districts in March this year. The Nepal Army has plans to complete the construction in three phases. Inaugurating the site, Defense Minister Pokharel directed the Nepal Army unit to complete construction work before the start of the monsoon season in the Himalayan nation. Kashmiri Pandits cast their votes in J-K's Udhampur

Udhampur (J-K), May 06 (ANI): Kashmiri Pandits cast their votes in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur for Anantnag parliamentary constituency today. Motihari-Amlekhgunj petroleum pipeline project reaches final phase
